Synopsis

Akane is a charming young girl with two separate identities. Growing up as a princess in the Dainagon family, she befriends Aogi, who, as he matures, takes a position with the Inner Guards at the Imperial Palace, thus becoming unavailable to the outside world. When the long-lasting separation from her childhood chum becomes unbearable, Akane must assume a second persona, that of a servant of the Imperial Palace. But entering the gates of the castle doesn't get her any closer to Aogi, and soon, these star-crossed lovers are breaking all the rules for that sweet reunion they both crave.

After reading the first volume, I am very reluctant to search and hunt down for the second one - it has a very good storyline, great characters, fantastic art (I really enjoy the ancient Japanese theme it has going for it), and again - there wasn't a single character I didn't like. It's really a shame this isn't a widely known manga - it has everything going for it for being a nice little romance story. The only problem is read more

This story is adorable. I found this series a long time ago. And had problems remembering the name. Akane is a pretty one track minded girl. Her best friend and the person she loves, Aogi, is a prince charming. Both of them just wish to be together. But it seems like everything in this story is trying to keep them apart. If you can find the story it really is a good read. Good laughs and the artwork is very good also.

I liked it but I was never able to find a continuation anywhere. This is only my second review but seeing as this series read more
