Synopsis

Freshman high school student Mako Mochizuki is easily prone to getting lost, especially whenever engrossed in the world through the lens of her film camera, a hobby she has had since she was young thanks to her beloved grandfather. Now that her grandfather is gone, Mako feels she lacks direction when fellow photography enthusiast Kei Akahoshi invites her to stay at Hasumi Inn, his high school's local boarding house. The building is also known as "Lens Inn," as all of the housemates are part of the school's photography club, so Mako decides to take a shot at her childhood friend's offer, using the opportunity to find new sights as well as herself.

While on her way to the inn, Mako catches sight of a puppy and starts to take a picture of it only to accidentally capture the long-haired boy walking with the animal. Later on, as Kei guides her around the manor, she learns that the puppy was the inn's residential pet, Omochi, and that his human companion–who Mako gave a bad first impression to–was Mitsuru Amemura, a fellow first-year. Despite his apparent dislike of having his picture taken, Mako discovers a photogenic side to Mitsuru, allowing a friendship of the two to slowly come into focus.

Renzu-sou no Sankaku was published in English as Love in Focus by Kodansha Comics USA from March 19 to July 23, 2019. The same publisher also released the series in a single omnibus edition on October 19, 2021.

I'm newer to reading manga so I am just starting out with some shorter romance ones (thats my jam with anime so why not for manga!) and Love in Focus was such a BEAUTIFUL story! I do wish there was more to it and it went a little deeper, but it was still a precious story with no 'filler' moments and it was an easy read.
Characters still had growth despite it being a shorter story.
The art is pretty and had some killer shots, but overall just nothing new or crazy about it.

Love is Focus is a straightforward romance with a typical high school love triangle. I read the story expecting this and I came out with an enjoyable, lighthearted, and cute experience.

Regarding the love triangle. It's incredibly obvious who she is ending up with from the get-go. Though I do feel like the drama was a little bit unnecessary. I guess the drama was more one-sided than anything.

The art is gorgeous, I found myself observing the characters every so often. These are some cute boys not gonna lie.

Reviewing things, especially manga is not something I'm very good at but I will give it my best! This will be spoiler-free.

Renzu-sou no Sankaku is a fairly simple story. There are no crazy twist and turns and I would say overall it's pretty average. This is not to say that I didn't get any enjoyment out of the read, it was just that, everything that happened was very predictable. If you are brand new into manga as I am, I think it's a nice little story. But if you've read lots of manga, I think you will feel extremely underwhelmed ...
