Both series deal with dead characters who can't remember their lives (or deaths), and their interactions with living characters who help them regain their memories while dealing with their own lives. 

Both tales feature a multitude of smaller narratives that are vaguely interconnected, forming a grander tale of human connection. They involve large casts with charming and memorable characters and chapters can range from comedic to tragic.
