- Humans will use their powers to fight against "evil creatures" that are trying to bring despair and death to the earth.
- MC has a really fast evolution, I mean, doesn't take many chapters in their training, and that's because they have an innate power.
- Strong heroines.
- The scenery in the battles are also very similar: lot of destruction and only in few panels to understand what's going on.
- Both highly recommended!
They both are inspired from mythology, Saint Seiya is inspired from greek and roman mythology and Magi is inspired from mostly arabic mythology (but also various other folklores and cultures). In both mangas, the balance of power in the world depends on the "magical equipment". In Saint Seiya human counterparts of the constellations, fight while wearing the sacred armors named "Cloths", who give them superhuman powers. In Magi, the humans who conquered a djinn's dungeon, are given magical weapons called "metal vessels", which are fueled by the person's "magoi", a type of energy similar to ki, specific only in this world, because of the existence of rukh, the source of all energy, "home of the souls".
Both animes have interesting characters (the characters of Alone and Hakuryuu are similar, since despite being good they are conflicted). The characters experience growth and development, engaging story lines and epic fights. They also have quite a similar drawing style, which is very visually pleasing.
If you love fantasy mangas that combine comedy and drama, then you have to start reading both ^^ read more
Very similar plot: Both are about 3 best friends (one girl and two boys) who lived together in a orphanage: the graceful girl, a boy who is energetic and funny and another one who was quiet. Eventually the quiet kind boy which is the reincarnation of an ancient god /spirit, betrays them all, kills everyone at the orphanage, wants to kill the girl too, but somehow wants the other boy to live and "chase" after him and his true goal is to destroy the world and kill all humanity so he can obtain true peace.
