Synopsis

Reina Aharen, a small and cute student with a quiet voice, is quite bad at determining distance and personal space. Sometimes she's inches away from your face, and at other times, miles too far! The only one who tries to understand her antics is Raidou Matsuboshi, who is seated beside her in class. He has a menacing face, but in reality, he is a kind boy with an imagination that can run wild at times.

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai follows the peculiar pair as their odd friendship starts to blossom when Raidou picks up Aharen's eraser for her. She misinterprets his gesture and now believes them to be best friends, showing how the simplest of things can prove to be the most complicated of challenges for them.

Do you like funny characters that don't express emotions readily? If your answer was yes, you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading this manga.

The plot is as simple as it comes. Raidou, your seemingly-average male highschooler, one day begins talking to Aharen, the very small girl who sits next to him in class. He quickly finds that she is horrible at judging interpersonal distance, both physically and mentally, but continues to interact with her on a daily basis.

If you ask me, the main draw of this manga is the absolute stoic nature of both the main characters. Both are severe kuuderes, especially this read more

Seeing as this is an ongoing manga (there are only 13 chapters available at the time of this review), I will only be covering it up to that point.

"Aharen-san wa Hakarenai", or "Aharen Is Indecipherable", is a short length comedy about a girl who can't seem to be understood. I know this doesn't sound very interesting on its own, but so far it's really funny and charming. It reminds me a lot of "Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge", or "Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless" in the sense that the characters act in a similar way. Instead of revolving around Tanaka being lazy and Ohta reacting to it, read more

Seeing this manga have so little review, I thought I give another one because all of the other reviews were really old.
This anime is about Raidou, A normal highschool boy. The only thing that is not normal is that his imaginations can run wild at times. At school, he sat beside Aharen-san who is a highschool girl with a short and small body. She is bad at determining distance and personal space.

I personally really like the art style of this manga. It just goes really well with the story. The characters are also likable.

But I will admit, I almost dropped this manga after read more
