Both are high level josei manga with the attendant sudden pregnancies, tragic pasts, and critically, devotion to an art form. Shouwa Genroku is more restrained and rations out its secret babies, heart attacks, and tragic fires, but don't mistake it, if you are addicted to one you will quickly fall in love with the other. 

Both are about wagashi artisans and trying to inherit the expectations of a family business, but Watashitachi is very dramatic, full of murder, mystery, and soap opera twists whereas Fukuyadou is more slice of life drama. Both have a strong romance component.
