Synopsis

This story is set in (maybe) the Edo period. Kokaku, a samurai usually found wearing a gaudy kimono without a hakama, is a member of a clan. Though lazy, he mercilessly punishes bad guys. This is an action-packed story about a hero who sneaks into gambling parlors and brothels and beats up thugs and bullies.

Background

Kokaku Torimonochou was first published partially by Tokyopop, who published the first four volumes from April 13, 2010 to March 1, 2011, before the publisher went defunct. VIZ Media took over the license, and published the first three volumes digitally under the VIZ Select imprint from April 28, 2015 to June 30, 2015, before dropping the license.
