Shigahime offers a deeply engaging storyline that is further accentuated by its monumental art. Hirohisa Sato showcases characters with substantial depth, and as the narrative unfolds, their evolution becomes evident, making readers invest emotionally in their journeys.

However, the pacing could be a point of contention for some. While the initial chapters may seem a tad slow with weaker dialogues, it's a deliberate buildup leading to an arc that is riveting and emotionally charged.

I believe that mature readers would appreciate Shigahime the most, given its thematic depth and nuanced storytelling. But with its compelling characters and art, it can resonate with a wider audience.

In the vast sea of manga, Shigahime shines as a hidden gem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Shigahime is an interesting manga, it starts very slow and the only peak is at the very end.
The main protagonist Osamu is fairly boring, in fact all the characters are. They don't stray from the box they're set in.
Miwako is the only character that properly gets the manga going, she's the sadistic villain that has no remorse for her actions.
Also, she likes minors. Throughout the manga there are questionable scenes to do with adults and children, such as Miwako forcibly kissing Osamu or Tamaki telling Souichi to masturbate in front of her.
For the horror aspect of the manga, it isn't too ... bad.
The artwork is great but I wish it had better writing and no pedophilia involved.

Let me start by saying that it is in fact a great art and it has an engaging plot but I cannot recommend this kind of manga, there is no reason to sexualize the relationship between children and adults, it`s in fact terrible. I do not intend to be part of the pedophile normalization acts, thats all.
In fact, since the beginning I should have already dropped, but I gave it another chance due to story and underlining japanese culture.

Spoiler: Chapter 23 is a game changer for me... An adult forcing a child to masturbate in front of her is just beyong limits of
acceptable.
