| Just finished Volume 3 and have mixed feelings. The time span covered by this part seems really short. Not once did we see the library or Ehrenfest. This time it was really strictly about the main story. Actually, it was mostly a debriefing of Volume 2. So no traders, no new trends, no new recipes. A little disappointing, but I still enjoyed it. Also, Oswald really pissed me off. He seems to be the last traitor in Ehrenfest. |

| @ shiger That's the book I'm talking about. I only read the officially translated parts, so please don't spoil. I wasn't quite sure here if Oswald was really trying to help Wilfried or if he was representing someone else's opinion. I devoured the part in record time, but I'm so curious to see what happens next with the library. |

| Yeah, I know that! luckily for me. I've decided since early to pay for JNC membership as to be able to read it weekly. I can not imagine now those who just depend on read the series as a final volume is released every 4 (or so ) months. XDD I had been stoped with the Print edition on PART 2, I need find more time off to start re-reading from part 3, now that Part 4 had begun being in print too. |

| Just saying but the original title for that part can indeed be translated as "Avatar of a/the goddess" anyway. 化身 does have both incarnation and avatar as a meaning. Not going to spoil which would be the correct translation or why that's the correct one though. I'm a bit annoyed that OP put that in his title though. Part titles in general are pretty spoillery, so it'd be nice if peoples avoided to throw them at the face of anyone visiting the board by putting it in the thread's title. Could have just put "[Light Novel] Part V (Five) " as a title, and it feels quite the deliberate attempt to spoil as many peoples as possible. Please don't do that. |

Well, the nice thing with J-Novel Club is that if you subscribe you don't have to wait months until the next volume is released, since they let you read new volumes as they're being translated, with usually new parts being released on a weekly basis. In the case of Bookworm they work at a pace of 10% of a volume each week, which is a pretty impressive pace. Also they don't intentionally stay behind the source material; there are multiple other series where the translation has completely caught up with the original Japanese, and I'm pretty sure this will be the case here as well (unless the next volume is the final or something). |

| I've just finished Part 5 Volume 5. What a strange volume. In the first four everything went at a snail's pace and now we get the main story in a marathon. They could have really expanded the trials. I still love Ascendance of a Bookworm, but Part 5 feels completely different. Now they have so many conflicts set up that I'm a little afraid there won't be time for anything else. Is there no way she can come up with some new tech again and change the world? The story has so many loose threads. I still have faith, but they better unravel them. |

Not at least until JNC do the official English translation... which must be in about 2 (maximum of 3) more years at 1 volume each 3-4 months ... (3 or 4 Volumes per year) According to the oficial web store, Vol 12 Part 5, has not yet announced ... https://www.tobooks.jp/booklove/ Last one is still on; Part V, Volumen XI |

(3 or 4 Volumes per year) J-Novel Club do not release volumes that slowly. For them to go from the digital book release of Part 4 Volume IX to the digital book release of Part 5 Volume VI will be 350 days and at that rate they'd release the digital book of Part 5 Volume XII in early September 2024. If you read the so-called "pre-publication" on their website then it should finish early August 2024 i.e. less than a year from now it should be completely translated on their website. Source 1:https://j-novel.club/series/ascendance-of-a-bookworm Source 2: https://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?d1=5&m1=10&y1=2022&d2=20&m2=9&y2=2023 shiger said: According to the oficial web store, Vol 12 Part 5, has not yet announced ... The existence of Part 5 Volume XII was revealed in the advertisement from Part 5 Volume X that I've linked to previously which also says it will release in Winter 2023. However the precise release date for Part 5 Volume XII has not been announced yet but after you vote in the 4th character popularity contest it says: 投票結果は2023年12月発売予定の原作『本好きの下剋上 第五部 女神の化身12』で発表! 乞うご期待! So it seems my earlier guess based on the Part 5 Volume X advertisement was correct and Part 5 Volume XII will indeed be releasing in December 2023. We don't know the precise date in December but based on their historical release dates I think December 9th, 2023 would be a safe bet.
