Hi mina.  last week J-Novel Club end with -Part IV- of Honzuki no Gekokujou [Ascendance of a Bookworm] and now it's time for the last Arc -Part v-

The Web Novel version start it at Chapter 461 (out of 677).
as there in JNC forums are thousands of post it made very hard to follow the topic there, so i thought here must be many who is up to this Part in the Novels too.

Hi, fortunately NONE AT ALL!!!

Your only choice will be using a machine translator on the original web-novel site.

Just finished Volume 3 and have mixed feelings. The time span covered by this part seems really short. Not once did we see the library or Ehrenfest. This time it was really strictly about the main story. Actually, it was mostly a debriefing of Volume 2. So no traders, no new trends, no new recipes. A little disappointing, but I still enjoyed it.

Also, Oswald really pissed me off. He seems to be the last traitor in Ehrenfest.

did you mean Volume 3, of Part 5?  (book #24),
hehe

Oswald had just working for his belief, and the best of his Lord.  ...but next volume have some surprises too, so look forward for it.
I still needing to control myself not to self spoil me with the Machine translations.  TT__TTu  hehe

@ shiger

That's the book I'm talking about. I only read the officially translated parts, so please don't spoil.

I wasn't quite sure here if Oswald was really trying to help Wilfried or if he was representing someone else's opinion.

I devoured the part in record time, but I'm so curious to see what happens next with the library.

Yeah, I know that! luckily for me. I've decided since early to pay for JNC membership as to be able to read it weekly.
I can not imagine now those who just depend on read the series as a final volume is released every 4 (or so ) months. XDD
I had been stoped with the Print edition on PART 2, I need find more time off to start re-reading from part 3, now that Part 4 had begun being in print too.

Unless Mine turns out to be a literal incarnation of a Goddess (which would imply the goddess died), avatar seems to be more accurate translation.
You all need to watch Nami.

Just saying but the original title for that part can indeed be translated as "Avatar of a/the goddess" anyway. 化身 does have both incarnation and avatar as a meaning.
Not going to spoil which would be the correct translation or why that's the correct one though.
I'm a bit annoyed that OP put that in his title though. Part titles in general are pretty spoillery, so it'd be nice if peoples avoided to throw them at the face of anyone visiting the board by putting it in the thread's title. Could have just put "[Light Novel] Part V (Five) " as a title, and it feels quite the deliberate attempt to spoil as many peoples as possible. Please don't do that.

Well, the nice thing with J-Novel Club is that if you subscribe you don't have to wait months until the next volume is released, since they let you read new volumes as they're being translated, with usually new parts being released on a weekly basis. In the case of Bookworm they work at a pace of 10% of a volume each week, which is a pretty impressive pace. Also they don't intentionally stay behind the source material; there are multiple other series where the translation has completely caught up with the original Japanese, and I'm pretty sure this will be the case here as well (unless the next volume is the final or something).

Oh yes it will indeed be the last one which makes me a little sad.... btw I caught upto WN (MTL was god awful but my curiosity got the best out of me hahaha...) It's been a few months since I read it so I was really wondering whether they will turn the Hannelore spin off in Light Novel too?

@NiQ1 Not, it WONT. Part 5 (V) is expected to end on Volume 12th. Currently JNC is releasing prepublication -Part 5, Vol. 6- (Book 27th Of 33).

In print, this Month just went out ~Part 4, Volume 7th. (book 19th of 33). [Which IDK why to the UK market it will be released on August 1th]. (TT___TT)

@Keitika2410_   Well, Far as I know, it will.
Miya told that she is waiting to end with the main series novel adaptation to continue writing the Spin Off.

PS! Welkome to the Club! I do also re-reading the Print Novels too.  Long Live to AoaBookworm Virus !!!!  hehehe

Hiya!
Today JNC has released Part 5 Volume 6, Pre-Publication Part 4, which includes Web novel Chapters, 566, 567 & 570. Skipping Chapter’s #568 & #569, which were some Side histories. Then, I believe those will be at the end of the Book. 📕 📚

Who had read then? (either by JNC official Translation, or by MTL of the original web novel)

Can we share opinions without spoilers ?!  o_0

I've just finished Part 5 Volume 5. What a strange volume. In the first four everything went at a snail's pace and now we get the main story in a marathon. They could have really expanded the trials. I still love Ascendance of a Bookworm, but Part 5 feels completely different. Now they have so many conflicts set up that I'm a little afraid there won't be time for anything else. Is there no way she can come up with some new tech again and change the world?

The story has so many loose threads. I still have faith, but they better unravel them.

I really like it. There's a reason why I read all the volumes up to Part 5 in 2 weeks.
Only the pacing bothers me at the moment. Especially in volume 3-4 nothing really happened and now in 5 everything is rushing.

Hi thanks, Yup.

Once I've try to follow JNC AoB treat ... but there where posting TOO MANY post a day, that I couldn’t  read ... I've desisted to try ...
I am not using either, Discord, nor Reddit. U_U
that's why I've try here. XDD

I'm not even too active in here either, I wish I can have more spare time... but.  TT__TT

Yes, I heard (read) that she will continue the "Spin off" Too, when she finish adapting the Main series. Tho it was in her own(?) Twitter. She mentioned that. She was not too specific either... but there are 27 Chaps in her Syosetsu
page Novel code: n4750dy

I feel the same, some books the pace is quite slow... and then suddenly sped all too fast!  but it's also another charm of the plot that I like so much.
And yeah, since middle of Part 5, the events get running faster.

I do have to force myself quite a lot, not to read the MTL (or fan-editions translated) versions of the WN   TT___TT

Unfortunately my Japanese is too basic.

I get you and I strongly STRONGLY suggest you wait for official translation, the MTL just gives you a lot of headache..... It's hard to decode sometimes...though you might have to read the MTL of hannelore's 5 year in royal academy spin-off.

Okay tbh I felt that the swith from P5V3 to P5V4 was a bit rushed but the story is soo good that I find my self reading it a hundred times...

the last volume is probably gonna be release soon

Based on the advertisement from Part 5 Volume X the final Japanese volume will release this Winter, so basically December 2023.

If it was September through November it would be Autumn. If it's Winter 2023, as the advertisement indicates, it has to be December.

Not at least until JNC do the official English translation... which must be in about 2 (maximum of 3) more years at 1 volume each 3-4 months ... (3 or 4 Volumes per year)
According  to the oficial web store, Vol 12 Part 5, has  not yet announced ...

Last one is still on; Part V, Volumen XI

J-Novel Club do not release volumes that slowly. For them to go from the digital book release of Part 4 Volume IX to the digital book release of Part 5 Volume VI will be 350 days and at that rate they'd release the digital book of Part 5 Volume XII in early September 2024. If you read the so-called "pre-publication" on their website then it should finish early August 2024 i.e. less than a year from now it should be completely translated on their website.

The existence of Part 5 Volume XII was revealed in the advertisement from Part 5 Volume X that I've linked to previously which also says it will release in Winter 2023. However the precise release date for Part 5 Volume XII has not been announced yet but after you vote in the 4th character popularity contest it says:
投票結果は2023年12月発売予定の原作『本好きの下剋上 第五部 女神の化身12』で発表! 乞うご期待!

So it seems my earlier guess based on the Part 5 Volume X advertisement was correct and Part 5 Volume XII will indeed be releasing in December 2023. We don't know the precise date in December but based on their historical release dates I think December 9th, 2023 would be a safe bet.
