I enjoyed it! I loved that we were allowed to swap out one anime that we got. The ability to do different parts of it for extra bonus points so that you could do the minimum if you wanted to or had to, but had an option to go the extra mile and such was a nice bonus for me personally. Also, much like hi score, I love that it made me watch shows that I normalyl would not have went for like Japan Sinks which was super good. When I picked Poinsettia Garden GEN with the intention of watching things that would be in Collections to make further progress with them, I didn't consider the fact that left the people recommending me anime without much choice to recommend things they've actually seen as they needed to fit the criteria given to them for cours/seasons. Similarly I ran into issues where there is very little choice to give anime I liked for the people I was recommending to when considering the hoops I was made to jump through to make them fit. The extra restrictions made the gift giving part extremely not fun. Finding good gifts in previous years was already difficult, but now needing to find something they hadn't seen, using the right gen, of the right type and length, with the right extra restriction, and with a genre they generally like made the valid set of anime super narrow in some circumstances. It felt less like "what shows do I think this person will like" and more like "which of the 5 available choices will this person hate the least." Personally I'd prefer not having any extra restrictions for recs, but at least having a choice between a couple of restrictions could have given us a lot more freedom to give something our partner would better enjoy. ๐ INSPECTED — ACCEPTED ๐ (by Jeon_Asuna) |
