Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019)
　Mini Review: I think I liked this? I'm still rather confused by several aspects of this, but considering this is an incomplete adaptation of a 20+ year LN series that's to be expected. The cast was a bit too large for its own good though, which could make it rather difficult to keep track of who's who (especially as certain characters are unfortunately not too distinct personality-wise). The the world itself was rather interesting, as were the general plots of each arc, though I wish things were expanded on a bit more, as it could often be rather difficult to comprehend certain aspects of story and character motivations due to insufficient explanation.
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia
　Mini Review: I almost thought this was a Shaft anime when I started, given its stylish flair. The presentation was most definitely one of the highlight of this anime, with interesting uses of colour and camera angles abound. The mystery regarding Yuuko was executed pretty well, and for such a small cast each held their own pretty well - naturally, as the focus, Yuuko was particularly outstanding, especially as she begins to develop and we learn the reasons behind her amnesia. I wish Niiya had a bit more character, though. I liked him, but he could have been better, and it definitely didn't justify him being the centre of a love rectangle. It could also have done with a bit less of the stereotypical anime "oops accidental boob grab" scenes, though they're fortunately less obnoxious than in other shows. Perhaps because they often don't involve the equally obnoxious violent retribution that follows.
Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna
　Mini Review: Some good music, Ayumu's arc was rather interesting, and Hiyono was a very pleasant surprise as a deuteragonist (especially by 2002 standards, she was a pretty damn good female deuteragonist/love interest). However, the main plot leaves much to be desired, piling on mysteries without ever bothering to answer them. From the start, we're given one main question: Who are the Blade Children? By the end of episode 25, this isn't answered. We know the identities of some Blade Children, and how to identify a Blade Children, but nothing of how they came to be, what their connection with Kiyotaka is, why Ayumu is destined to save them, or any of the other questions regarding them. This could have easily been answered by talking things through, but the characters here are annoyingly tight-lipped for no reason, artificially elongating the mystery.
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Sakubou
　Mini Review: It's Legend of the Galactic Heroes - was there any doubt that I'd love this? As always, I still prefer the original OVA series, but Die Neue These is still pretty great in its own right. Even though I know exactly where things are going, there are moments that remain just as tense as the first time I watched them, and the plot remains one of the greatest in the medium. Even the soundtrack and visuals are pretty good. It can't compare to the original's aesthetic style or wonderful use of classical music, but it's still good. They perfectly nailed the ending to the season, too - really, this is the gold standard of what a remake should be. Overall, I can't wait for the next season - if only they'd bring back Valkyrie Ha or Revolution of the Heart, I might even give it a 10.

　Mini Review: Yeah, this one was just not enjoyable at all for me. A whole 2 cours for what you knew was going to happen from ep 1, and yet nothing actually interesting happened in between. Just a super tropey, almost harem (and school romance, and literally nothing else) show. The only somewhat likeable character was Kai, and even he was still pretty bland. I don't think it was awful, but it would have held up a lot better as a 3-ep OVA or something similar.
[✔]Banana Fish
　Mini Review: This was good! The characters were strong and both the music and art were great. It was definitely an entertaining watch, and it really makes you feel for Ash. The only gripes I have with it are that I think it got repetitive at certain points with not much new happening, some parts didn't feel as fleshed out as they should have been, and I kind of wish that they stuck with an 80s/90s setting. But other than that, everything else was pretty good.
[✔]Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen OVA
　Mini Review: It's a good thing I watched this now, since I just caught up to this arc in the manga. Either way, the first ep gave us more info about what happened to Mamushi, as well as giving a super sweet scene towards the end. The second one was pure comedy, but still an entertaining watch for fans of the show (like myself, even if it is purely nostalgia value).
[✔]Kimi to, Nami ni Noretara (Great Bean Gift - from Workshop 17, imlaabem 2)
　Mini Review: I basically went into this movie blindly, and I seriously loved it. Great art, soundtrack, heart-warming romance that pulls you in and drama that breaks it. The characters aren't the most memorable themselves, but the context they are put into brings them to life. It's just the kind of (almost shoujo-esque) romance that I love - along with dealing with a real human experience that hits very close to home for a lot of people - and the fantasy aspect ties it up both metaphorically, and by bringing intriguing scenarios needed for this kind of movie to keep you engaged.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi
　Mini Review: I am not a fan of time travel, but this was a very enjoyable watch. Erased doesn't have much world-building or a large cast, but it makes do with what it has, so every character feels unique and most importantly, they are (mostly) realistically written children. Its story is well-paced and doesn't give away anything until it needs to. With that said, we come to the only negative, which would be that it eventually has to give away that mystery, and with it it also loses any chance at creating suspense. Despite that, I still think it came to a satisfying close and is absolutely worth recommending.

　Mini Review: The main character is utterly inept at everything she does and so were CLAMP at writing anything that could be described as a sensical story with less than a dozen plot conveniences and just as many holes. That's my review. It's garbage.
Kami no Tou (The Great Bean Gift | Workshop #13)
　Mini Review: The first season of what I hope to be a long-running series, because 13 episodes wasn't nearly enough to justify the addiction it brings with it. From the start, Kami no Tou baits you with little crumbs of mystery and world-building, always leaving you wanting more. This is only enhanced by its large, yet intricate cast of characters. All of this is presented in consistently outstanding visuals and audio design. By the end, its only flaw is being too short.
Mo Dao Zu Shi
　Mini Review: It certainly takes its time to get going, but it uses this time to acquaint the viewer with the relatively large cast and world, so once it does get going one episode goes by at the snap of a finger. The art is consistently outstanding and so is the sound design. I did not expect a flute to go this hard as a battle anthem or a guqin to end up in my imaginary favorite weapons list, but here we are. All in all, Mo Dao Zu Shi clearly deserves its seat in the upper echelon of Korean and Chinese anime and I'm looking forward to seeing where this story will head in the sequels.

Golden Kamuy
　Mini Review: This series is insane. Like, with every arc it gets more insane. I love this premise, and it's got a great hook. It would usually be a 9/10 series for me since the action is interesting and fresh, the characters are really good and there's plenty to like about it. Unfortunately the art (particularly how things are scaled, especially with Asirpa) is a recurring issue to the point of being distracting at times. 8/10 this is a food anime by stealth.
Young Black Jack
　Mini Review: I should have received the original Black Jack OVAs, but due to it being two-cour got it switched over to this. There are definitely some... choices in the writing of this anime. The first half really did not capture me, but the second half was so much better. An arc which is just one long Dororo reference done extremely well? Yes, just yes. Settled on a 6/10 at the end, which is pretty good considering I wanted to give the anime a 4/10 for most of it!
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi
　Mini Review: So for the first and final arcs of this anime I feel like they were good standalone stories, where I think with the final arc in particular it would have been better off as its own story. The Undertaker concept is underutilised, but every other aspect of Ai's character is expanded upon. The second arc I have the most issues with - it's The Ones Who Walked Away From Omelas, but missing the point and significantly worse. There's something missing here that I usually find in stories such as these, and it is to the detriment of my enjoyment. Overall, this is a 7/10.
Somali to Mori no Kamisama
　Mini Review: What is done well in this anime is the atmosphere, the physical spaces and the bond between Somali and Golem. It has the heart of any father/child anime, and I have recommended this to an irl friend on that basis. However: I can't find sense in the conflict provided by the series. The issue of human/non-human relations is considerably muddied for me. Both sides are shown to be in the wrong, yes, but within the narrative the humans are shown as the instigators for being scared, which with the many issues Somali comes across... well I can't blame them. 8/10 Cute as hell but the writing looks like it would fall apart if it was any longer.

　Mini Review: Honestly, I didn't expect I'd like it as much as I did. The first two or three episodes felt quite boring, but then I got really invested, and honestly, I don't know why that happened. It's got so much dialogue that I thought was a light novel and that annoyed me at first. But after episode four I couldn't stop myself and kept clicking on the next episode. And I think the reason for that is, instead of thinking of it as watching an anime, I thought of it as watching a book. And if you're someone who likes reading books then this is a nice way to get through dialogue-heavy shows. The story and the mystery aspect wasn't anything new or ground-breaking, but it was interesting enough to keep me clicking on the next episode. (I ended up binging it btw.)

　Mini Review: I can see why someone thinks this is an anime that I might (or probably) like, it has a balance between youkai apartment's positivity and the (high school) drama and not just wish fulfillment (?) that "my life is shit and the solution is youkai" or not drama after drama which probably makes me not care about it, also maybe they thought I love the family thing that mentioned in the first mal review and it's true that stories focused on traditional families (that are positive) are safe bets for me but it's a found family here and I had mixed opinions on found families, also while this is probably more of the source material fault (because it's kinda long) the show seemed to be something like a long runner show that was cancelled after 2-cours, it was doing too much for what it is and at the same time it lacked any focus like most of the youkai apartment characters barely had any depth and then it introduces the magic book based on tarot cards which again we barely saw how that even worked (sorry I'm just writing something now so I might be a little inaccurate) and then all of school drama just felt a little "forced" or maybe "extreme" maybe, still with those it wasn't really a bad show and I enjoyed it more or less

　Mini Review: I wanted to check this for a long time but at last it was pretty disappointing, I know this is just a movie but the characters felt bland for the most part and the interactions weren't that great imo (at the very least not as great as what the anime was aiming since at ending you should've felt that they had great interactions) and the sci-fi part was boring for me but still not too bad probably because for example I enjoyed near the end scene when they decided to help Frol or the character designs were distinct so it was pretty nice

ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka
　Mini Review: the first episode were a really nice build-up for the last episode and let's exaggerate that the last episode blown my mind lol, also for a TV anime it had very good animation and presentation and one of the reasons (if not the main reason) I enjoyed the different places main character traveled was the visuals, great stuff

　Mini Review: As a Thriller Action anime it was great and it hooked me pretty much every episode but idk the drama just didn't work for me maybe because the pacing was too fast or maybe for the most part I didn't feel like most characters apart from MCs were important, still I didn't feel much when the drama was about Ash either, also some parts of the conspiracy that I think meant to be serious, straight up made me laugh because I felt it was stupid but overall it was fine and also even with considering those still it was a very nice watch thanks for making me finally complete this after being on my holds for 4+ years

　Mini Review: A bit disappointing : as a purported "first meeting" for all the Lupin gang, it's just a bit underwhelming and dull ? Also the framing story "twist" doesn't especially help taking the thing seriously.

　Mini Review: You can tell this is from the makers of Noir and .hack//, because that is sure a lot of panning over characters barely emoting while the music is blaring and nothing at all is happening. Unfortunately, ALI Project aren't quite Yuki Kajiura (although they do try !), and even their score can't hide that this features a nonsensical setup where the protagonist just kills a lot of people without care for the havoc she leaves behind herself. The whole thing is just absurd and doesn't support the super-serious atmosphere it tries building.

Mini Review: I remember i wanted to watch this a while ago but the "edgy" title kept me off haha, so thanks for making me watch it, it got a bit confusing sometimes but nothing too bad. I loved the last few episodes and the ending was phenomenal! I adore the characters!! (by "characters" i mean mostly just Hei. Mao and Yin too. but mostly just Hei). I can def see where you were coming from with the evangelion comparison. This was very cool and ill make sure to watch the sequels.

　Mini Review: I enjoyed this way more than i expected to! I think I've always seen clannad as an "obstacle" i'd have to get through to watch after story so i wasn't too eager to watch it. But i liked it a lot! The first arc with Fuko would have to be my favourite :) . there are some parts i think could've been better (the school play scene was so cliche omg), but overall it was great! i cried like three times watching it so... after story here i go :'))

Mini Review: i didn't know what to expect from it but when i saw that it has a historical setting and is from ghibli i started preparing myself for the kind of damage that grave of the fireflies had caused me. So i'm very glad it had a happy ending!! It had both sad and fun bits and i overall enjoyed it. I also watched it in dub which i don't do often and it wasn't bad at all :)

　Mini Review: Great! I really liked the interactions between the class and Korosensei. My favourite character might be Karasuma though. Every episode it is more character development for one (or more) characters. Korosensei might be the wackiest character I've ever seen in anime. Rated it a 9.

　Mini Review: Great story. Shows a lot of character development for Phos. Wish it got a second season to explain the mystery of why the Lunarians attack and what their connection to the Master is. Rated it a 9.

　Mini Review: Pretty good, but it could've been done better if it was a 2-cour to go more in-depth. It was too shallow for me to invest in the characters and their stories fully. Rated it an 8.

　Mini Review: Perfect mix of comedy while still explaining a lot about animation, the story was really unique and they had my full attention all the way through. I loved every chapter and the way their personalities were so different yet they still made the perfect team. Top tier anime. 10/10

　Mini Review: I just treated this as a cute BL so the best part were just the kind of peaceful school days. In the latter chapters when stuff got serious it was a really mid fantasy story. Still, Dantalion is cute and I fell for the fake BL. 07/10

　Mini Review: Everything was so dramatic, but MC was so dumb I couldn't actually care if she got back without giving the bad guys the music or not. Nothing about this was good, but it also wasn't horrible. None of the characters had me interested in them or in what was happening to them. 04/10

　Mini Review: The MC was very annoying, bad-tempered and mean :( I am a bit disappointed. The plot did not make much sense. The house design was very interesting.
Little Witch Academia (TV) [The Great Bean Gift - used a gift from Naughty Workshop #13, given to RachelPanda]
　Mini Review: The story was not very complicated, but enjoyable. I was moved near the end. The animation was very dynamic, but also not detailed when the frames were more still.
Bananya: Fushigi na Nakama-tachi
　Mini Review: It was childish. No wonder, it's a show for kids. The creatures were cute, I admit, but that's it.
Wakaokami wa Shougakusei! Movie
　Mini Review: It did not resonate well with me. It was supposed to be about dealing with grief after losing parents. I think that this chance was not properly given to Okko - elementary school student. She was potrayed as much more mature than she should be, considering her age. The supporting characters did not win me with nose picking or pranks.

1. Itazura na Kiss [✔]
Mini review: I had such a confusing relationship with this show. In the beginning I hated it cause man, the main girl deserved better than her jerk-ass love interest. But as the show continued they both grew and matured, not miraculously overnight but gradually across several years. Their relationship was a joy to watch, and say what you will about this series but it sure as hell ain't boring! It did contain some elements that didn't age well (take a shot everytime a character is being creepy and it's glossed over), but following the characters from high school into adulthood was such an unexpected treat that I'm not sure if I mind that much? Honestly got teary eyed in the last episode, such a satisfying finish to a rollercoaster of a show. 8/10 for the comedy, wholesomeness and character growth!

2. Touhai Densetsu Akagi: Yami ni Maiorita Tensai [✔]
Mini review: Who would've thought Mahjong could be so tense? I liked the slow pacing even though the commentary could become excessive at times. I was drawn into the world and Akagi's character, and thus left disappointed with the anti-climactic ending, leaving questions unanswered and character arcs unexplored. It felt like my investment in the show was pointless, which lessened my enjoyment considerably, which is a shame cause I very much liked the premise. 6/10 for leaving me quite hollow despite being a high stakes game anime.

3. Taifuu no Noruda [✔]
Mini review: Oh, I enjoyed this little movie a lot! It was like a speed-run of a typical anime about a boy who meets a mystical girl. The selling point was truly the intense relationship between the main character and his best friend, I laughed out loud numerous times when they dramatically tore and mended their relationship. Objectively, it was a bit rushed and one-dimensional, but subjectively, that's why I had fun watching it. 6/10 for giving me a good laugh!

4. Black Cat (TV) [✔]
Mini review: I've been thinking about how I feel about this show and I think I can summarize it in an analogy. Black Cat was like your average fanfic written by a newbie. Full of interesting tropes, a bit rushed and lackluster storytelling but features building blocks of an intriguing world. The difference between Black Cat and such a fanfic is that fanfiction can rely on the source material in terms of character building and establishing relationships within a cast, whereas an original work cannot; it has to put in the work. And while this show did a lot of things, it sure didn't put in the work. Due to it being packed to the brim with plotlines and characters without much time to develop any of it, I was left quite uninvolved and disinterested. Nice tropes though, I think a solid remake would do this justice. 5/10.

　Mini Review: This anime is stunning. For anyone that loves animation as an artistic expression. The textures and the theatrical storytelling felt magical. Definitely would rewatch. The Medicine Seller was such a misterious and intriguing character, and how he connected all the short stories with the Katashi, Makoto and Kotowari (Form, Truth and Reason) from each Mononoke that appeared on his path kept me watching wit hunger of how the events would turn. A true masterpiece
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar
　Mini Review: Ashes and Illusions. This one was unexpectedly good. How the bonds between characters were formed through hardships and how they had to fight for survival (and the how to deal with a friend's lost) made the story so emotional and endearing. On a side note, I loved the art here! The watercolor-ish backgrounds were so beautiful and the characters designs were adorable
Flip Flappers
　Mini Review: Flip Flap! Flip Flap! This was such a ride! The fantastic world created for Pure Ilusion were nything could be possible was the most enjoyable aspect of this anime. Children exploring the world's wonders and dangers, while looking for the hidden treasures, I could watch this kind of things forever. The ending tho is a masterpiece on its own
Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni
　Mini Review: Beatiful and heartbreaking. That's how I'd describe this movie. How war knocking at the doors makes so many changes but at the same time how does it feels as life goes on even with tragedies.

　Mini Review: This was such a good show! I thought dividing the show into the production of two series was really smart, especially since we got to see Miyamori as both a PA and a PM. I also thought the interjections from her two dolls were a great way to provide insight and commentary on a scene without making it feel forced. The ending was great; it felt final with the in-anime series being over but also felt like the beginning of a great new thing. We got to see the girls working on the same project at the end and could sense that they would continue to try their hardest in their fields.

　Mini Review: I thought I was going to like this, but I only really enjoyed the last episode. I didn't find most of the comedy to be that funny and wished the girls at least seemed to have an understanding of each other. In the first ep when Mayaya and Banba were talking to each other, it felt like they were both just going off about their interests, not caring to show interest in the other person. I guess that's their shtick, that they all have super niche things they're into, but if the episode centers on them, I don't think that's enough to carry it.

　Mini Review: I always loved classical music themed series, especially the one with piano in the focus. This series was a perfect rec for me, thank you. The CG really bothered me, I think they could have just use classical animation. I was hoping for some romance, maybe in season 2.
Magic Kaito SWAP - Taifuu no Noruda (workshop 06, Iradina)
　Mini Review: A short story with supernatural elements. In my opinion it could have been longer to give the characters more backround. I still find it stange when a schoolboy (or -girl) believes anything they have been told without any doubt and wants to save a stanger even their life is in danger. I guess I dont't like this kind of cliches. The animation way quiet nice.
　Reason of swapping: To be honest, I did not found a subtitle for this series in my language. I was really busy in January and February, way too exhausted to watch at the end of the days anything besides simple romcom or SoL series in English...

Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni
　Mini Review: Unfortunately I found the approx. 2 h 10 min version only. The art is beautiful and fits perfectly to the story. I think it portrays the everyday life during WWII very well. This movie shows the 'better' side of these everydays, rather than the horror that happened. The ending felt a bit meeningless to me, to be honest.
