Physically, it seems that Euphie has a weak body but luckily, she also have Anisphia looking after her. I must say, she really is a good friend to have around.

Can we also get more scenes with that maid Llia in this show please? I feel like she's a character being overlooked in the show but has a personality that differs from the others so far.

Euphillya fell ill from exhaustion with her new life, but Anisphia's kind care and warm words eased her heart. One day, Ilia told Yufilia about her past and Anisphia's true intentions, Yufilia began to discover, albeit vaguely, what her purpose should be. But then she received unexpected and urgent news from the Guild. the prince finally comeback.

Bit of a setup episode this week, but there was still plenty of stuff to enjoy, including the yuri going off the charts, and who's going to complain about more Anis and Euphie interactions? Anis changed Ilia to be less tight of a person, and surely she'll change Euphie for the better as well. Right now, Euphie's lost, even though she has the freedom to do what she wants now. She's used to being perfect, to be obedient, so she doesn't know how to do things by her own will yet, and I'm looking forward to the day she does something she truly wants.

So it turns out that Algard was seen as the weaker of the two siblings, and with the dragon being a threat to the capital, it seems he wants to prove himself, but is he under the control of someone? Of course though, Anis is already on the case, and we should be in for quite the battle next episode.

Kind of curious how Ilia became a maid for Anis. What in the world did she do to the old man for him to give up on being with Ilia. If there's a side story in the light novels about it, I might have to pick this one up.

Glad that Euphie is gradually recovering and taking the initiative to catch up with Anis. She was stuck on one path but now she seems reasonably overwhelmed with the fact that she has many paths she can take now. Looking forward to how they'll take down the dragon.

LETS GOOOOOOOO ANIME OF THE SEASON BACK WITH A NEW EP. Fresh off an Anitrendz number 1 ranking(first in history for an openly yuri show)

The level of love and care they’ve put into this adaptation is just mind blowing. Carefully crafting intimate moments between Anis and Euphie, shedding light on why Ilia is the way she is, just a perfect episode. You can really see Euphie slowly falling for Anis and believing in her more and more every day.

Anis has helped Euphie grow more in a few days than she had in years, old Euphie isn’t going off to fight a dragon. For the first time in her life she realises she has the freedom to decide for herself what direction her life takes and I’m so happy for her.

In many ways Algard and Euphie are juxtapositions. Both have spent their entire lives living predetermined fates. Euphie has used Anis as a positive influence and broken free while Algard has allowed his insecurities to keep him stuck.

Can’t wait for next week.

I love how this anime portrait the King as a good guy and his son as a bad guy when in fact it's actually the King that arrange a force marriage to his son. His son has the right to love and marry with anyone from any social class and any gender.

Yup, this anime is a unique kind of adaptation. Whilst most drama/SoL focused manga/LN got a more action focused anime adaptation, Tenten Kakumei do the complete opposite instead, adapting a more action focused manga/LN title into a more drama/character focused anime instead.

Loved the adaptation so far. I really hope more yuri moments shall come later. But considering the manga (I don't read the LN), there might be less yuri moments in the near future. However, due to how the anime has been adapting the source materials so far, all hopes are not lost yet. Fingers crossed for more yuris!!!

A good contender for AOTS this one indeed.

The only thing that makes the prince look bad is himself, his actions. The king and the prime minister were just acting in their given roles, the same as any other kingdom. The thing that makes the king good is he doesn’t just view his kids politically he thinks about them empathetically with clear love for them. The reason the prince was under house arrest is the crazy scene he created hurting the crowns position and scheming with others. If Algard had came to his father honestly who knows how things would have went.

I was wondering the same thing and my guess is that Ilia refused that arrangement and Anis saved her like she did with Euphie. I said something similar before and that is that Ilia has a caring but blunt and no effs given attitude, and it's great to see.

It's good to see Euphie slowly start accepting her new role and living in the villa, I really like her mannerisms and appearance, such elegance (as a member from Spy x Family would say).

Kahaha! Could almost feel sorry for Algard if he wasn't such a putz. He gathers up his courage to risk his life and makes his bold declaration to his father, challenging the pre-chosen route he'd been given, only for crazy girl to swoop in and snatch away his moment again.

On the other hand I do feel bad for Anis for going to such lengths to try and support her little brother only for snake nobles to undermine him in the background and turn him on her. I hope the light, fluffy, and wholesome levels of the show reach high enough by the end that the two are able to reach an understanding and reconcile, it'd be disappointing for him to remain a cookie-cutter scumprince to the last.

Anis getting all the shade from Ilia about Euphyllia, and the latter has caught a cold much that the former cannot ignore her love interest's wellbeing. Given all that Euphyllia has went through up until this point, it feels like a waste of her life being a nothing, when compared to Anis who has the world within her grasp. The former princess herself wanting an order from Anis, and all the latter wanted was just her freedom of expression. Even when the forehead scene looks yuri-ish, the context of friendship here is just as important, because Anis truly treasures Euphyllia.

Euphyllia in the midst of testing Arc-en-Ciel, and Anis training in her combat foundations as well, it looks as if Euphie herself is still in a blank state of mind. And talking to Illa clears the air between her relationship with the rowdy princess who is anything but typical and would sacrifice anything to ensure that anyone who needs like (a.k.a Euphie) would get all the help needed.

The princess called in for adventuring to calm down a stampede of a dragon and a monster pack, and this would aid in her research as well, the hard-fought princess who does things her way, and its absolute. This stampede causes a major crisis within the kingdom, and Prince Algard offers his assistance despite his house arrest, with the reward being marrying the commoner if it goes well. His hatred for Euphyllia goes beyond the roof, and their father can't afford to ignore the rumours that the next heir to the throne is a severe problem, so this is why Algard took the role, which got stolen by Anis quick.

Regardless still, the yuri game is coming strong.

This series is going hard on the yuri and I'm loving it. I don't remember there being this much yuri in the manga so they must have toned it down from the Light Novel.

Also I would love to see Anis as Queen but it probably will end up being Algard. But Queen Anis and Euphe sounds great.

Each characters have their own personal problem. Anis has a dream and know what she wants to do but lack the thing she want the most (ability to naturally use magic). Euphie, on the other hand, has everything Anis wishes to have but don't know what she wants to do with her life outside of the role given to her by the others.

Anis and Euphie relationship are progressing slowly and smoothly. Ilia and Euphie also share their past to each other.

If I am a king I will probably have a headache about Anisphia and Algard situation as well.

Anisphia has many good achievements and skills but doesn't want a throne and act like a troublemaker so that Algard will look more suitable to be a king. And Algard want to stop staying in Anisphia's shadow and become someone who truly suitable to be called a king and he is willing to cross many lines to archive that. In other story, this is actually a good motivation for the protagonist but too bad, Algard, you're an antagonist now.

Meanwhile, Lainie, who is the center of all current conflict between characters, haven't appeared at all after the first episode.

How the heck can an episode that gives the preface with a dragon fight be so damn boring? I know, add a ton of worthless and hollow dialogue from the maid character hyping up the alleged achievements of the main character.

Probably the only worthwhile piece of info in this whole episode was that Ilia was also a rescued "cat" from Anis long list of stray pets. Kinda wish I could erase my memory and watch Izetta for the first time again and embrace a good political and war drama in a fantasy setting with far more interesting main characters that are more than just yuri bait.

Always felt like something felt off regarding Algard and Anis.. Like he felt that she was better than him even though she couldn't use magic.. I never got the superiority complex vibe from him

And now we fully understand..Anis may act clumsy wacky and acts without thinking but she has a certain charisma about her..She can inspire others and is very intelligent regarding magic. Also skilled in combat

Algard doesn't possess anything that would make him better than his sister in regards to being a ruler. So when she renounced the throne he thinks Anis did so out of pity as to prove that she was superior

And judging from his attitude and him being over emotional their father is right...

God this is such a good adaptation. But so far it's been mostly really talky. Which is necessary, and I like, but it remains to be seen if the production will be able to handle such a major action scene as the dragon fight. if it does the show is going to pop off, though.

also jfc it was absolutely the gayest episode. This show isn't stepping off the gas on that front, at all.

regarding Algard, I do feel sorry for him. He's responded to his shitty situation badly, but he is in a bad situation, and it's not really any one person's fault, nor was there ever an easy fix.
Anis IS more charismatic than him, more talented, able to inspire people, etc. She has a force of personality Algard lacks, with the only advantage he has being that he's male, and yet he didn't even get to choose his fiancee or do anything significant to prove his masculinity. He doesn't love Lainie - she was a means to an end, which is declaring his agency that he feels has been robbed from him. He wants, badly, to prove that he's capable of standing on his own, of being the rightful king. And he feels like his sister beclowning herself and stepping aside for him doesn't help him, because it doesn't make him look better. It put a rift between them because he began to feel like if she hadn't taken herself out of the running, he'd have no shot. That what-if has driven him off the deep end.

and then right as an opportunity seems to present itself for him to prove his merit, there's his sister blithely snatching it away. lmao.

I think, too, that his sister stepping aside allowed her immense freedom that he envies so, so much. I can't sympathize with his actions, but I think it would take someone with a remarkably positive personality to put up with what he's had to deal with, and not go a bit mad.

This show is just wonderful. Even though this episode was mostly a setup for the big battle next week, the spotlight on Ilia and Algard was very well done. Euphi is still fighting her inner conflict, but slowly progressing towards being who she wants to be (and falling for Anis in the meantime). And even though I'm not a parent, the king feels incredibly relatable.

I really don't trust that ministry of magic and Algard. I fear they might plot something - no idea what though.

And props to the animation of this episode, especially the close-ups of Euphy and Algard!

What a pair, one is absolutely headstrong with an unwavering identity who knows who she is and couldn't be anyone else. Meanwhile the other has been trapped all her life, fitting into the mold others have casted for her, but is now breaking free and finding her own identity through the unrelenting nature that is Anis.

Anis and Algard apparently were close as kids, but somehow grew apart as Anis found her passion in "magicology". I wonder if Algard despises his (older?) sister for more than one reason. Maybe he despises her for "leaving" him behind as she pursued who she was. Maybe he became jealous of how she had a firm grasp on her identity, how she had broken out of her mold that being of royalty had set for them, while he remained constricted by it. One thing was made clear though in his confrontation with his father during that meeting, and that is that he is jealous of the way how his father sees potential in Anis, and not as much in him. I'm so glad that the characters are nowhere near one dimensional, and have at least another layer to them.

I also wonder if what their father believes is actually true: that Anis really did intentionally give up the throne to be passed onto her brother. This would suggest that she herself recognized her brother's lack of talent, and to help him not be neglected for the rest of his life, acted in the way she does to make it appear that she was unfit for the throne; and naturally pass it to the one who seemed more competent. Could be true, but it could also be true that Anis genuinely does not care about the throne and knows it was never what was best for her anyway.

It's not that I don't understand the prince. I get where he is coming from. I see his resolve, his beliefs, what he is fighting for. And at certain extent, I do agree with him. But still, nothing excuses him from shaming Euphie in public. I have never forgiven him. It's fine to fight for what you believe in, but it's never right to hurt, or shame, a lady like that. He's not fit to be a king like that.

But at least, bad things happen to us for a reason. Sometimes, those events lead us to a better place where we can truly grow, be happy, and be free. Euphie is definitely in a better place now, free from her shackles of being the "king's future wife." Now, she can choose her own path. Her view has broaden. Her world became larger. If being the "king's future wife" isn't for her, then that only means her destiny is going to be a lot better and more suited for her gifts.

Unless it's 2 cour the anime definitely adapt 2 volume but what make me wonder is why there's volume 3 character(the spirit covenant) in the opening. I don't think they can make 3 volume in just 12 episode with how they adapt this so really good with many original scene that's not in manga and LN. The ep 5 is about stampede and ep 6 is fighting the dragon, so the rest 6 episode should be about volume 2, especially i think volume 2 feels much longer. I do hope it will only adapt until volume 2 and give a sneak peak about the possible season 2

So I'm a little worried too, but if they weren't going to adapt by volume 3, they would have no reason to put in a scene that takes place in that volume.

I don't think I've seen any scenes from volume 4, so they will most likely stop at 3, which would then close the first arc.

Hmm. Ok so its ep 4.

The intro sure reminds me of ep 1, though I havent actually gone back to rewatch ep 1 because.

So far, we're already 1/3 into the season and. To be honest almost nothing has happened so far. The pacing is really, really slow and there's almost nothing to actually talk about.

And of course the moment I say that. Well we knew some stuff was gonna happen this ep, though this isnt exactly what I had in mind. Uh.

After disappearing for the last few eps apparently the prince is back. Though the shady looking dude, hmmmmm. And well who knows, anis and euphy are going off to steal the show(?) so surely *Something has to happen next ep. Surely?

They really go all out on Yuri relationship for this anime version. No wonder I kinda misunderstood the manga as Yuri Bait first. The experience of reading the manga really different from watching the anime because the really take time focusing on the relationship. While reading the manga I really enjoy the isekai feeling. It become tedious to watch if this keep going on. Probably gonna skip to the action part next time.
