These three episodes seem to follow basically the some plot, where

1. Some threatening outside force comes to the town
2. There's a bit of a pissing contest to see which side is stronger
3. They concede that the Goblin Village is strong and form an alliance

This happens with Dwarf King Gazel in episode 15, Milim Nava in episode 16, and then Phobio in episode 17 (although I guess the alliance is made by The Border Survey Corps and not Phobio, idk, it's been a while since I've seen it)

In fact, this whole section introduces significant amounts of characters in a very short period of time. Is this because of the faster pace of the adaptation? I've watched up to like episode 40 or so and this is definitely not an isolated incident.

It’s kinda a trope in certain isekai animes. Another one that’s like that is princess connect re dive. It kinda reeks of a shounen plot hole.

I mean I'd rather a faster paced adaptation than the dogshit that was grimgar.

What was wrong with the Grimgar adaptation, I haven’t read the books yet

the problem is that usually they adapt 3-4 ln volumes per 12 episodes give or take. grimgar adapted 2 in 12 episodes, idk if you watched it or not but if you did and you didn't feel the slowness then I could see why this level of progression would bother you. see I like for the shows I watch to not put me to sleep, which is what grimgar did.

I mean, 86 adapted 3 volumes in 23 episodes, and people loved that

bro they put 4 volumes of the light novel into 25 anime episodes. that's too rushed, season 2 has perfect passing putting 2 volumes into 24 episode, as they should. One light novel volume is like 4-5 manga volume worth of plot.

Grimgar anime adaptation was perfect. i wish more adaptations were as fateful as grimgar and no game no life, Madhouse needs to work on more isekai adaptations. poor re zero gets terrible animation, rushed lacing and no season 3 while being the most popular isekai over the years.

you realise that Tensura season 2 only adapted volumes 5 and 6 of the light novel? that's one volume per 12 episode. 86 EIGHTY SIX also adapted only the first volume for season 1 and it's still sucessful. while we have animes such as overlord who put 3 volumes made out of 350+ pages into 12 episodes.

Depends on the LN. some have more plot points to hit per volume than others.

tensura adapts the manga not ln... but go off. they can adapt 2 volumes if they have enough content to make it work.

Tensura is a light novel by origin, not manga. original author is Fuse who released the web novel, after that the LN that's considered cannon material. any changes made in anime and manga are not cannon.

I mean cool? doesn't change ny point that the anime is based off the manga. if you love grimgar just say that no need to try and change my opinion cause I'm not going to. I heard the ln gets better but the anime was a beautiful melatonin overload

i'm not trying to chabge your opinion alright? i'm jist saying that anime is not always 100% canon because some people think that it is. manga isn't either, web novel as well. you can look at them as sloghtly different versions of the same story. Grimgar LN gets better but gets terrible after vol 12.

You kinda make it sound a little easier than it is. I can’t remember exactly what happened in the anime, but the ln went more into depth. They formed alliances with other countries and groups after discussions and looking at the pros and cons. It isn’t really just seeing them as stronger and forming an alliance.
