[This post won't contain anything related to manga ending, AnR ending etc. This post is created to create an awareness to the animeonlies of the AOE]
[Also i had tried to make this thread as much manga spoiler free as possible]

The changes in the anime version of AOT

This was shown in ep 78 in the memory panel when eren enters the path
This was in the manga and it basically shows that there exists multiple timelines besides the current one

There is also a new Shard in anime ver which wasn't shown in the manga memory panel(aka shards)

This is an event that had happened at the end of the manga, (this wasn't shown in the manga shards)
All the events that had happened in the memory shards was from the past, otherwise it wouldn't be memory shards then how is it possible to show the future if it already had not happened before the anime timeline??means manga timeline had happened before anime timeline. Basically confirming AOE

For reference manga shards from chapter 120

Does this means that eren actually knows the end outcome??
Maybe....

This is a scene that was shown in ep 78 after he enters the path, you can see both expression error and dialogue error in the anime ver compared to manga ver

This anime only scene can also be a direct comparison when eren was kidnapped to the royal family's hideout

You can see here that eren already knows this place(from his fathers memories)

Manga eren when he entered paths he didn't know where he was and was really astonished to see the paths.
You might be thinking that studio might have changed his expression like they always makes some changes from the initial ver, which i don't think so because mappa is adapting the manga 1:1

Mikasa

To show that the anime and manga are different timelines you can check out Mikasa's scarf in the manga ver it is black and zeke has white hair and beard in manga

To add more to this theory, when eren entered paths he saw manga mikasa in shards i.e, mikasa in black scarf (not his memories of the anime mikasa from ep 1)

Its not just about the scarf, look at the way she is turning to the right to look at eren(clearly different from anime ver), the petals falling near her these are all greatly similar to the manga ver, if you think the black scarf was artistic choice to match the colour, no its not. someone had to spend days drawing it. its not like they just added filter over it and called it a day, its 100% intentional

This isn't all, you can even check the first chapter of eren sleeping under the tree in the manga (chapter 1 and anime ep 1 both differs greatly)

Isayama's inspiration

Also wanted to say that don't create threads like
Japanese liked the ending why would isayama change the ending
I liked the ending it was great, why change it

The answer is with aoe they can redefine anime-manga relation by making manga a different entity of its own.
Meaning isayama doesn't hate the ending he was planning this from the very beginning to create an ending by relating it with another timeline (if aoe happens that is)

Okay, but these little glimpses are definitely not enough to make any reasonable assumptions that there will be AOE . In order to completely change the ending (that it would make sense) some plot points had to be changed earlier.

er...There are two factions who hate the ending. One side hates it for the extra pages. The other side hates it because it's not dark enough.

Regarding OP:

GothKasa/Nerdmin panel could be alt-timeline, but it's also possible to be future of current timeline.

Regarding Scarf color change: the original color change was proposed by the anime director, not the author.

Muv-luv inspiration for alt-timeline: the final school caste chapter mentioned about the ending being kept simple or something to blow people's mind.

So all in all, things can go either way.

Either u are correct, or it's just to match the color of the falling petals.

Cause the scene was all black & white except for the purple petals… it’s called creative choice. Also as the other person mentioned the scarf color was changed in the anime without Isayama’s input, but a lot of people like to pretend like he meticulously planned everything out for the sake of their theories.

Honestly I’m not against an AOE as long as it’s better than the canon one which is going to be hard to pull off. If we do get a different ending I doubt it’s going to be this different timelines shit cause it would only make everything more confusing and complicated for no reason and it would honestly ruin the serious themes of the story.

Eren already saw all the memories before "this place is..." scene. So it makes more sense that he's not surprised. This part in the manga was flawed and the anime fixed it.

Memory shards never shown us the future outcome.(in the manga)
Only 2 people had entered paths before eren which are zeke and ymir(historia's friend)
Eren didn't eat either of them then
How is it possible for Eren to know there exists a path

The line's still there, but they tone down the reaction entirely because they couldn't even reference it properly in the manga.

you are so wrong. Manga readers who didn't liked the ending aren't waiting or excited for the anime to end, they are either neutral abt it or doesn't give af abt aot anymore after that disastrous ending. Also if you think they moved on and doesn't criticize aot now then habibi come to Twitter and reddit.

You probably liked the ending.
But let me tell you as a ending hater pov, I want aoe that is completely different from manga ending. I don't know if aoe will happen or not but I am willing to accept anything that isnt the manga ending.

Everyone knows what ending we don't want ,the shitkasa and simpren curse🤦🏻,that is one of the most non buildup, non foreshadowing and non explained stuff in the manga

Also no actual manga readers like that, the ones who like that outcome are manga readers who only care about Mikasa and Eren's relationship ,the story themes and dynamics are thrown out of the window
Historia was ruined becoz of that ending🤦🏻

From what I have seen, these "inconsistences" are deliberate. You don't animate Mikasa's scarf black when it always have been red by mistake. You don't show the sauna scene and the cast of SnK Highschool for no reason. It isn't even an Easter egg. It is clear and straightforward.

However, that doesn't confirm AOE. It only confirms that in the world of SnK, multiple timelines exists. And MAYBE Eren knows this and would change his actions. I would hope Isayama does AOE though. I don't want to see all of this foreshadowing go to waste. Also, it would quite literally be the first in the industry. Exciting stuff.

Another anime-only change that I'm surprised more haven't caught onto occurs when Falco first awakes at the beginning of the time-skip. In the anime, he mentions having just been flying around fighting titans. No line at all similar to this was ever said in the manga.
