The event is now over! You can see how you placed here. Welcome to MAL's Annual Halloween Haunt!  Characters belong to Odd Taxi—watch it! Story The crunch of cold, wet leaves with each footstep. Your breath, crystalizing in the chilly air that stings your face. A decrepit mansion stands before you, framed by the silhouettes of tree branches against the full moon. 「MALoween Mansion」 You shouldn't have gotten in that taxi. You're sure you gave the driver the right address—the one to your friends' party —but this wasn't what you were expecting. Soon you notice the other guests walking towards the mansion, each dressed as if from some bygone era. A blonde girl dressed in a polka-dot dress from the 50's. A couple straight out of a Victorian painting. A man clutching a wooden musket from the 1700's. But no matter what era, they all seem... almost see-through, as if they aren't actually here. Suddenly, you remember the parting words of the taxi driver, spoken in husky laughter. 「Omae wa mou, shindeiru」 Those people are already dead. And... what if you are, too? 🗲 🗲 🗲 Will you risk it all for fame and candy? ☩ Click to Enter ☩ ...if you dare. How to Play 1. Enter the Mansion Click "Enter" above and then "Join Club" underneath the picture on the right. 2. Solve Puzzles/Complete Missions Under "Club Discussion", you will see forum threads. Each forum thread represents one "room" of the mansion. All mansion rooms contain some kind of quest or riddle. If you successfully do what the room asks, you will be rewarded with candy. 3. Collect Candy The 2021 Mansion has the possibility to collect 17 pieces of unique main candy. Some rooms will also contain bonus candy, giving challengers a chance to compete for the biggest stash. Escape Mission (Easy Mode) You must collect at least 8 main candy pieces (not bonus candy) to safely escape the mansion with your candy stash. Candy Hoarder (Hard Mode) Compete with your fellow Mansion dwellers to collect the most candy. Main candy will have more weight than bonus candy. We'll list the ranking of everyone who collected the most candy at the end of the event~ 4. Get Badges  Challengers who collect 1-7 main candy pieces (not bonus candy) will receive a mansion badge —because they're still trapped inside!  Challengers who collect 8-16 main candy pieces (not bonus candy) will receive a candy badge —for successfully escaping the mansion with their candy stash. Mansion Closes in... Gonna be honest, though MAL was gonna be dead forever but you're actually doing quite a lot of things this year. Making use of the badges as prize for events, the genre update, the opening and ending section update and other things maybe which I don't know about. I will glady particate in this event (cuz it seems fun) and thanks for trying to make MAL better. |

Each discussion has a pretty detailed rules how to play and there's a google form where to put your answers to the challenge problems. Most of the problems with MAL games are riddles, database searching, quizzes and such. |
