Kusuriya no Hitorigoto got the third rank in the light novel ranking. I hope this series will get an anime adaptation soon. It is a great series after all. |

Looks like there's a lot of interest in flashy modern takes on Japanese folklore. One Piece has been dethroned. Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen manga sales have surpassed One Piece's and MHA consistently beats it in anime viewership. Though, most surprising to me is the popularity of Tokyo Revengers. |

No doubt what two series are dominating the charts, lol. It's really good to see Tokyo Revengers and Shingeki no Kyojin up there too! And Chainsaw Man too although I've no experience with it. Surprised by no One Piece, definitely hoping to see it come back stronger for the remaining half of the year. |

I doesn't really have low sales, it just has a steady release of volumes that each sell well but it simply doesn't have the kind of mass buy phenomena that Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen have become, no doubt because their respective anime adaptations have been so successful. If you have tons of new fans buying all the volumes it's easily going to surpass a decades old series where the dedicated readers already have all the old ones. |

Don't really understand the sensitive takes in this thread with people complaining battle shonen the genre that has always been super popular is dominating in sales. I mean sure it would be nice if Oricon released more sales numbers instead of just the top 5 but what did you expect lol? Also was honestly surprised that Chain Saw Man and Tokyo Revengers are doing as well as they are. Ramkec said: Damn KNY still going strong somebody stop this series. And AoT too, all this backlash about a horrible ending and people burning series and making petitions to make their own endings and shit and it still sells so good. Man whats wrong with these fans. While over reactions to any media is incredibly stupid there is nothing wrong with being critical. Naruto still sold well towards the end of it's life but plenty fans found it flawed. There isn't anything wrong with that. |

Sigh, no one can stop KnY even in light novels. I'm just glad that Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is in the top three LN sales, it's the most interesting series in this list. |

Welp, not surprised to see Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen dominating the list. Pleasant surprise to see Tokyo Revengers on the list too, at least. |

Mass volumes of the big boosts are killing the lists, fucking awful for the last 2 years. Can't even see what else sells since they are now pushed down by nearly 40 volumes of 2 series. Also one piece posters making excuses, it sold 3 million+ several years ago per vol, now it can't even break 1 million in the first week, LMAO |

"I think I wanted to attack something. Like betraying people or hurting people. And, well, it's not exactly nice, but hurting the readers too... In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author). |

KnY empire is sure incredible. I don't think jjk will be able to take #1 from KnY for 2021. S2(every shit after S1 is amazing as well) will give the sales a major boost. There are also a very high probability of another 'ep19' plus it is KnY, every thing it has done so far is like a miracle and was unpredictable. Also Jjk's anime boost seems to be fading. Jjk might take the #1 spot for 2022. This are just my predictions though. I might be wrong in future ofc. TR and chainsaw are also tough competitors. |

woah... didn' expect that kny still on the top spot. i thought it was jjk but it was pretty close too so maybe it can overtake the top spot on the second half. anyway im curious about one piece case, how many OP volume that released in a year? also, were the previous volume of OP still getting published/reprinted? i often found some people that getting upset with manga sales chart because OP is lower than some title and complainning that OP only have few number of volume released compared to another title |

Interesting to see Yakusoku no Neverland in 6th despite its terrible anime adaptation. It's possible the bad anime made more people want to buy the manga and find out how it should have gone, instead of the dumpster fire we got instead. |

Lmao. KnY still rocking the sales even after ending a year ago. If it had gone on for a 2-3 more years it even had the potential to catch up to One Piece. JJK is also getting popular but it still needs that "blow-up" that KnY got.... |

It is no. 9 most highest selling manga ever and it started in 2016. Not any other recent manga are even close. One piece has managed to sell around 500 million in 25 years. Also, KnY sold record 82 million last year. It has humungous popularity in Japan and that was rising exponentially. At that rate, it could have easily overtaken One Piece in a few years (if not 2-3 years). |

That's 125 million copies in 14 months. And it's popularity was still rising exponentially in Japan (thanx to the anime adaptation). If we go by only the earlier rate rate, in less than 5 years it would have crossed 500 million mark.... It sold 82 million copies in a year while Kingdom was at number 2 and One piece at number 3 with only 8 million. That's how hugely it blew up. Bruh, the manga became 9th highest selling manga ever in just 4 years while other super popular mangas like MHA, Haikyuu etc have been going on for way longer time and have barely managed 50 million sales in all this time. Hell, it left behind some of the all time popular - HxH, Rurouni kenshin, Bleach etc. The only shounen manga with more sales than demon slayer is Dragonball, Naruto and One piece, which all ran for 15-25 years. |
