So, when Zeke Eren and ymir are in the paths and Eren is in chains and stuffs. He breaks out and holds Ymir and remind her that she is not a slave to anyone, she is free. So the whole rule about Founding titan power working with royal blood was only because Ymir thought she was a slave to royals bloodline. But after Eren broke her free of the notion, Eren became the original titan(or whatever u call his new titan). Where does zeke come into play. He is not needed. Ymir isn't going to listen to him, and she can do whatever she want, she has all the power. This is proven by the fact that when Zeke orders her for Euthanasia, nothing happens. That means the founding titan and royal blood connection is broken. So the rumbling was Eren and Ymir, so how does killing Zeke stops the rumbling. I have even accepted ch139, but this bothers me so much. Can anyone explain?

Mod Edit: Modified title to mask potential spoilers.

The same way Ymir wasn't waiting 2000 years for Eren as the twin chapter titles suggest but for Mikasa instead, with the magic powers of retconning.

chapter 133 already shows that killing Zeke will stop the Rumbling

here is an analogy, Zeke is like the modem that connects the computer (Eren) to the internet (Paths/Ymir)

Eren saying to Ymir that she is free does not matter much considering she is still in love with the royal blood or the King, thats the whole point of her observing Mikasa

Their plan discussion on chapter 133 does not make the retcon any better. Ymir already disobeyed an order form Zeke (royal blood) and sided with Eren instead , who even let her choose, so she was already free. Then she was un-freed for the Mikasa twist in the end . The point that the opening post makes is valid.

Ymir is acting anyway since she planned this all along being the mastermind of it all just to see what Mikasa will do

Which is why the last chapter is not well received (to put it mildly) , with the Ymir plot being the main culprit.

chapter 137-139 is really the worst piece of fiction. Imagine thinking it makes sense, just imagine

Isayama barely explained anything regarding Paths, use your headcanon like the manga readers that liked this ending are doing.

For me.. Zeke should have died the moment the rumbling started. Given that Eren doesn’t need Zeke in order to transform himself into colossal titan since he has full access to its powers. Also the hollow monkey titan is a signal that Zeke died since the titans were the past titan shifters.

In 137 Zeke was alive and stuck in the paths so that Levi can have closure in his arc. In which in my opinion Levi should have died when the thunderspear goes boom.

It would also makes sense about Falco’s dream of the previous beast titan since he has zeke’s sf if Zeke had died.

Also the lore about the previous titan that would be passed on to the next when it died without being eaten has not been fulfilled.

Anyways clearly there has been messing around with the titan lore.
Attack on Titan Chapter 139 is a slap to the face.

Why do you even need to apologize and change the title, this is in Manga section, if anime onlies see this, this is their fault not yours

I was quite confused myself looking at the comments and thinking, but the manga is finished and why would anime folks be on the manga forums. I have also seen free full spoilers discussion on other completed mangas but anyway, it is what it is
