A hyperfixation does that to a mf

Besides, it's not like most people stay in just one fanbase ALL the time. You gotta diversify, or take a break every now and again.

I'm currently not in any fanbases or fandoms. I would like to be, but a lot of these groups are pretty toxic, based on my experiences.

Nah im in the monogatari community and have seen the entire series 2x and no, it doesn't get boring

like doesn’t it get boring talking about that one same anime or manga

Not when there's so much to take in about the anime I also consider myself apart of the Made In Abyss community as well. persona too, kinda

Besides, it's not like most people stay in just one fanbase ALL the time. You gotta diversify, or take a break every now and again.

Depends on what you consider being in a "fanbase" means

I stay from fanbases because they are so toxic, full of immature people you can't have any healthy discussions in anime community, The only fanbase that I'm part of is Fruit Basket community, you can discuss and talk about lot of things there, without people insulting each other left and right though I will not say that it's perfect it does have toxic fans too but they are lot less compare to other fanbases

I don't think the Fruits Basket fanbase is nice. In reedit, a user created a poll asking which character they thought was affected by the curse in the worst way. He/she was harassed by some people forcing him/her to make a public apology https://www.reddit.com/r/FruitsBasket/comments/i4rylh/an_apology/

It's a shame because I had a good opinion about the fanbase until I read that thread. I hope it was just an isolated case and they don't harass others again.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

The only reason why I'm still in the One Piece fanbase is because it's still on-going.

I've been in the one piece fanbase forever and I still love it since it's fun talking about new chapters and episodes.

There's always something new to discover about your favourite series. I think people that can move from season to season finding a new show to talk about like chameleons are more difficult to understand.

As someone who is part of the Attack on Titan fanbase, it is because we get new manga content every month and anime content every week

Well. It depends on the fan base. I’ve been in a lot of fan bases over the years. Hetalia was one of them. Although using it would be a bad example since the hetalia fan base has done concerning stuff. Like I said it depends on the fan base.

I equate hyper fans of an anime to porn addicts who are obsessed with a single porn actress.

It is the only way it makes sense to me. It must be like masturbation for them I dunno how else it can happen for a series especially once it ends.

I have been a fan of several series that have been on going a long time and are still going but when they end they will likely be semi retired with maybe a rewatch here and there one day.

I think the only one I'm a part of is Houseki no Kuni's.

Well I'm not just a fan of one franchise, it's around several hundred at this point, and I've never been one to completely fanboy out on anything.

It doesn't really. I'm on a Discord and we share fanart; I spend a lot of time translating fancomics for the fans; they love it and there are so many of them...and people keep making more.

Other things people like doing: role-playing, sharing headcanons, sharing fanfics, etc.

You can really have endless fun with a series if there are lots of creative people in the fandom.

Very small fandoms are harder to keep alive.

Why would someone being in a fandom make them only capable of talking about one topic? Even if someone was in, say, the One Piece fandom, they can still interact outside of the One Piece fandom, and it's not like the One Piece fandom does nothing but talk about One Piece.

Basically just be in different fanbases so that you don't get bored.

Like, I'm in Fate fandom and AK fandom right now, but since the AK fandom is getting dull right now, I'm getting into The legend of heroes fandom right now.

I wasted all my time in rewatching to the point of my rewatch total is higher than my overall anime total lmao

Final Fantasy 7 as its the jrpg that really helped popularized jrpgs and layed down many foundations that you see in gaming today.

I'm more into Xenogears tho these days.

I only stay to anime fanbases when they are airing. But manga readers still ruin it.

Because people who are really into specific shows are still capable of having multiple interests.

Like, I never shut up about how much I love To LOVE-Ru. I have posters for the series in my room, even. I still watch other anime, I still play videogames, at cetera. I have a job. I talk to people both online and real life and do stuff outside of just talking about that series. Just because I'm really into that series doesn't mean it's my only interest I spend time on. Makes it harder to get bored of it.

So like, yeah. Being really into one specific anime and being really involved in that fandom doesn't mean it's the breadth of that person's identity. If this question is working off of that assumption then it's just a stupid question because you're talking about extremely fringe cases that you probably couldn't even point to an accurate example of.

I don't stay in fanbases, however, as long as it continues to entertain me and keep me up to date with the toxic development of immature fans, I'm all in. I don't contribute anything, however, I am a curious person and may want some tea to certain things.
