I just want to know why some people don't like it since it's in my top 10 for sure, and season 2 seems promising.

It came from Shonen Jump.
Every single new thing that’s adapted from it is bound to be controversial, people just dislike popular stuff.

Long answer: Their life experiences have moulded them into different individuals with different prospects on what's good and evil, as well as what is great and terrible. This allows them to come to the conclusion (based upon their life experiences) that the characters are unlikeable, or that chemistry is a boring aspect of life that shouldn't be willingly indulged within.

Short answer: Everybody is different.

Dr. Stone, for me, was an incredibly refreshing show that came out of nowhere and helped revive my boredom of Anime at the time. It's mildly educational, as well as satisfactory beyond description. Seeing these characters advance through the ages with new technology is a feeling unlike any I have ever felt in a show. It's a really great show in my opinion. But, once again, I am just one of many humans who thinks it is good, with there being an almost equal amount of humans who think the show is bad.

The anime has a lot of views and good rates so individuals may not like Dr. Stone but people do like it.
It being in your top 10 is irrelevant

Why do people dislike any show? There might be a show that you hate, but a fan of that could also ask, "Why do you dislike this show? It's so good." like you are doing right now. Every individual is different, and that's the end of the story.

I like the series but I hate the character designs. There is also this annoying trope I hate where characters constantly sing praises to the power of math and science although thankfully senkuu wasn't that annoying.

They say it's not realistic and the science is just plot convenience.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

I just didn't find the science aspect that interesting. I thought it was an interesting concept but none of it really made sense to me so throughout the entire anime I was just thinking "Sure", "Oh, okay", "Hmm that's cool", "Okay", "Right","Okay","Okay". Put simply, I got bored.
What do you find so interesting about it?

Probably because of how unrealistic the "science" is in their world. I personally like the show aswell but I can also definitely say that the show's interpretation of science is unrealistic and somewhat childish which can be a turn off for people.

Just like @Olde-Jo said
People have different tastes, due to there different experiences in their life.
But it's just two episodes out for now. We can't really just from it. Even in season one, I thought it was kinda boring until senku hit the town. For now, we can't really say much. Let's just wait and see.

Probably just personal taste. They aren't obligated to like anything. S1 was a bit of a drag to me, and I ended up dropping it halfway in as it was airing before going back to it a few weeks ago.

S2 looks far more promising.

Because their brains are too small and overloaded that when they watch the show it starts to hurt their heads. Too much information to process, so their mind begins to shut down as a result.

Yeah I don't get this criticism. Every shounen out there have lots of bullshit and unexplained abilities. At least Dr.Stone references real world technologies so it doesn't throw nonsensical explanation to your face. Although Dr.Stone is far from realistic, I admire the anime for the amount of research put into it to make a shounen somewhat logical.

Doesn't know what it wants to be. I think the comedic but also serious nature of the plot conflicts a lot. It's treating a potential war with a eugenics crazy faction way too lightly maybe that changes IDK. The guys they send after Senku initially seem more like jokes than any credible threat.

Outside of Senku most of the characters are one note one trait characters. Even Senku doesn't have that much depth. Animation is limited. Humour in general I didn't find funny. The art style itself is nice. I kinda liked the series when it was just the initial trio trying to survive but I think it went down in quality once they got to the village.

Idk because I remember I was really into it at first then I got bored.. then I went back to go and try to watch it again because someone that I watch said it was their number 1 anime and I was like semi-entertained but then I got bored again.

I'll probably still finish it because I want to know what happens. I can definitely see why it interests people so I kind of think that it's honestly all about what genres/characters that you like.

I didn't like fall in love with any of the characters so I think that's a big reason why I didn't watch it through because usually when I find a new anime to watch I get attached to one (or multiple) of the characters so it's more enjoyable for me, but when I don't really like any of the characters like that (I mean they all look cool but personality-wise I didn't.. y'know).

what bothers me most about the show is how he insist on going the dumbest route every time and invent memery.
ok now I'll invent the gun
nvm let's just make ramen, katana, and a cellphone.
they're keeping it purposefully silly and "hip" to the point it actively hurts the plot.

I remember doing a robotics project where we hooked up 6DOF sensors and programmed some logic to detect how fast the robot was moving and accelerating in each direction, and what angle it's facing. The state of the art was to use PID (proportional-integration-derivative) to capture this information from the accelerometers, and use a Kalman filter to reject noise. In theory, a computer programmer could take the outputs from those sensors and find the relevant formulas from a math book and plug them in, and you'd have a robot like Boston Dynamics, right? In reality, these sensors are noisy as fuck, and unstable, so that even if you have the right hyperparameters in your noise filter that worked for awhile, it couldn't necessarily work indefinitely.

What does this have to do with Dr. Stone? You see, it's not that my IQ isn't high enough to enjoy it. It's that Dr. Stone has a theoretical view of science, like if a non-scientist tried to depict the scientific process from a textbook. A scientist or an engineer would tell you the processes in Dr. Stone are real... in theory. But when you actually go out to do it, things never really work exactly as planned.

And that's where you get Taiju's infinite strength and Senku's supernatural ability to distinguish the minutiae, the kind of asspull that allows you to accept that he counted seconds for thousands of years without drifting, and that the revolution and Earth's magnetic poles didn't change at all during this time, nor the relative temperatures. And that he could measure chemicals without a pipette, or weigh materials with rudimentary scales, etc.

At the end of the day, underneath that facade of "science", it's just another mediocre shounen that rely on super powers to move the plot.

The idea that you could create magnets using lightning is spot on. To produce exactly the kind of magnet you need every time lightning strikes is the kind of fantasy that would never work in real life.

You don't have to be an asshole. The OP only wonders why something he likes is not appealing to other people, that's all.

I rather have the nonsensical explanation in a fantasy world that isn't real and knows it isn't real, than the explanation that it pretends is real, but could never really work in the real world. Of course no anime really works in the real world, but Dr. Stone is the only one that pretends like it should.

But he clearly stated that he can't comprehend why people dislike the show while he loves that.
Anyway, OP is just a 14 years old edgy kid who watched only 18 anime and decided that it's enough to consider himself knowlegeable and to start asserting something.
Come on, he even makes topics about depression and meaninglessness of life, what a smart child indeed.
I think he really needs to get out of his shell. And he needs to encounter some assholes who might help him open his eyes.

Well I dropped at show after 7 episodes mostly because it just felt too childish and boring to me. I don't think I like anything about that show other than the decent production value it had as the science part was not of much interest to me, the characters ranged from boring to annoying and the plot couldn't hold my attention.
