This is my speculation but...

No Game No Life - They can't decide change or keep studio and director.
Houseki no Kuni - Just lacks of manga volumes.
Yagate Kimi ni Naru - Manga was already finished a year ago so it's difficult to adapt second season. Plus, discs sale and streaming popular wa so-so because Shoujo Ai for mature audience.

It looks like there are plenty of Land of the Lustrous volumes to go through, from my understanding, the first season just had a long and arduous production cycle, I assume that might be reason.

As for Bloom Into You, I believe the sales were strong from my understanding, and the series is rated a PG-13, so it's likely that the reason there isn't more is likely because of scheduling issues or because the manga is complete, and there isn't really enough left for a whole season, maybe a movie at most

This season will adapt the best arc in not only the series itself, but one of the best in any series I've seen. Hyped to see anime-only peeps lose their minds like I did when I first read it lol. I wouldn't be surprised if this season cracked the top #10 or even higher if they do it right.

Your opinion is right. Making sequel is really difficult. That's why I'm looking forward to Kaguya-sama sequels.

Guys should I wait for S3 to come out to keep the surprise of what's coming next or read the manga in its entirety (feel like once I get hooked on the manga I won't stop myself from reading past S2 material) ... I'm seriously debating this LOL

I'm so happy to see the best part of the series is gonna be adapted, guessing the ova is their way of getting around cut content. Still begs the question of how they will adapt things now on out with so much more of a stronger continuity that I dont know how they could skip things anymore. S3 should be fine but a hypothetical 4th season might be really hard to end on a climactic note.

CeddyyBearr said:

Now the question is, do I start reading the Manga or should I keep going in blind like I am used to from the first two seasons!

The anime staff does a fantastic job as is, I say stay with the anime for s3, then maybe consider picking up the manga from there to catch up on whatever has been skipped and to just enjoy the stuff past where s3 ends. The stuff that an eventual 4th season will cover is gonna be a bit more divisive and is honestly much better when not spread out across multiple weeks so reading it in the manga catching up is honestly the ideal way to read it.

For the record its good, its just much more continuity and by that extension some things required more build up and pay off.

You likley will speed through the manga if your start, its got a pretty good momentum from this point on always teasing something coming even if it doesnt always immediately follow it up. Its your call, wanna avoid spoilers by catching up to all the goodies to come or do you wanna take part in the fun of weekly discussions for the really well done anime

I am honestly so excited but I can't help but wonder how they're going to finish the season on time with good pacing and fitting the entire next arc from the manga in there; how many episodes will it take? I realllly hope it turns out well

I was really hoping that a third season would be announced shortly after the ending of the second season back in June, so 4 months later and that waiting has paid off.

2021 is looking to be one hell of a year for anime right now. ^_^

Nice, it'll be great seeing the Culture Festival animated. I wonder what the OVA will cover though, maybe it will be an original? Only thing that sucks is the Culture Festival is Kaguya at its peak. Nothing after comes close

this is just an inference based on the chapters adapted so far in S1 and S2 (approximately Vol 1-Vol 5 & Vol 6-Vol 10 although some chapters were skipped and a lot were out of order), but I believe volumes 11-15 will be adapted if S3 is our typical 12-episode season

A lot of speculation on Reddit is that Kaguya-sama S3 may be the last season just cause most rom-coms don't last that long but we all hoping this anime is the exceptionnnn; I want the full manga to be adapted which will likely be 4-5 seasons(? Don't quote me on that it's a guess) but S3 is a lot bigger of a deal than you would expect since we ain't a shounen series!!
