Yeah that score...46 to 70+. It's not close but hey, the fighting spirit is still in the air.

Episode is alright. I'm just glad to see everyone enjoying the spirit of basketball.

Boys kissed! Even though it's an accident. But I'll take it.

I feel like the most outstanding body part of Ahiru no Sora is tongue.

Fantastic episode! One of the best we've had in this arc with the team going against Taiei. Of course it's just like old man Osho said, nigh impossible for them to come back from a thirty point deficit. Yet it's also like Momoharu said, there's something more important they're playing for in this game than just winning. We got to really see what the Kuzu boys are capable of with this episode! They can light you up when they go on a hot streak! It was really captivating to see. Even some of the other teachers are starting to get into it.

We pretty much got to see all the main starters on the team make some badass plays! Yasu with his near layup, Momoharu slamming it down! Probably my favorite part there. Sora shooting threes like a machine. Making up for his height with every shot. Chiaki passing the ball in that point guard position with grace. Kite making layups earlier on. They're really messing together as a team and showing some potential. Makes you get excited for what they could do later on. It's still an insurmountable lead to overcome but our Kuzu boys are showing some real grit on the court not just taking it all laying down.

I always like when Chiaki is in "serious mode" (even though I am sorry to tell you Mokichi that I think he came everyday at your house also for...your food lol).

Regarding the next episode title, I should warn that there is unfortunately a little double/triple entendre probably not well transcribed by the translation. Indeed, the title of the series is actually a wordplay with Sky and duck and so "the SKY/Sora of the duck" and is itself a lousy reference to "The wingless duck" (this is even the official name of the series in Indonesia) or the fairy tale "the ugly duckcling" (of course, I know that thanks to the official translation of the manga. I am not showing off here).

I precise that because, people may be surprised by the next episode content. And of course, this is not the last episode (funny how even some Japanese thought that it would be the case XD)

This is some real Kageyama Hinata magic that just came out of nowhere. I like that this episode had a lot of peaks for the Kuzu members.

Chiaki and Sora getting their new strategy for super threes, Natsume going into the zone and Momoharu and Yasu trying to atone for their parts of getting the team into this mess in the first place. Pity we only have 4 episodes left.

the importance of Spacing...

the reason why Chiaki move into forward position is that it enables Sora's 3 point shooting to be utilized well.... As Chiaki is a big player that can score well (if he wants too) and has a great IQ, he can attract some defenders inside this making Sora shooting those 3's..

just like in modern NBA right now, the importance of Screen and Spacing has being shown as players nowaday shoot more 3's than before... because of those screens and great spacing, players can shoot more confidently.

Oh, this was a really good episode and the episode title for the next episode promises some more goods!

Chiaki is just too OP. Veering the ball like that plus the low bounce, and finally those words have come to fruition! It'll be interesting to see how far they'll manage to catch up.

Yasu-san and Kite had some pretty cool moments too.

Definitely feeels like we're finally into the climax of the matchup now. Nice to see the advisor of the Football club showing some support as well.

Kuzu has cut Tahei's lead down to 22 points. They can actually win this game if Kuzu allow themselves to not trade baskets with Tahei.

Did someone honestly say "nice defense" after they fouled a 3 point shooter?

There are very very few times when it is okay to foul a 3 point shooter.

Did kuroko copied THE ZONE from ahiru? I heard that ahiru actually was published before kuroko.

Not that it matters much. Just curious.

Honestly no. The "zone" (or "flow") notion is an old term. Indeed Kuroko (2008) started latter than Ahiru no Sora (2003, and even if we want to nitpick, 2007 for the time when the chapters used in that episode were published) but Kuroko decided to make the zone its super-power/concept (like "nen", "stand", whatever...) and made it mainstream let's say.

But other sport series also used/mentioned it. Like for instance "Baby steps".

I felt it when they flashed back to the incident then Yasu and Momo teamed on that dunk. Earn that redemption!

And Sora and Chiaki's hard work paying off. Now I just want to see Mokichi elevate his endurance.

Nao is amazing. Holding the ship together.

Madoka still sucks, but I'm sure she will find some awkward way to weasel her character back into the story.

I’m only watching this still because I want to find out if he falls for one of the girls. The story beyond that is being pointlessly drawn out just to fill the season time slots. The practice game is needlessly long. I feel like one of the teachers stuck there watching.

This anime had some good plot themes but abandoned them for these horribly long games with no meaning.

Could you elaborate please. Because I am curious (no polemic here. Just curiosity ;) ). By the way, again, this is an anime adaptation of a manga, so if there should be something "drawn out" (which I don't think, even though I may understand that the length may surprised, especially by some standards), this is the manga to blame.

But then again, even though this is a series which mix sport, slice of life, romance etc. (I am talking about the series as a whole, not the ongoing anime), the root is at the end of the day a "spokon" so sport/games remain (one of) the main point.

That's it! Momoharu finally made a dunk after 46 episodes. I don't care about this match's end result anymore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Entertaining episode overall. Chiaki getting serious is always good to see and his society with Sora will surely make the team get closer to Taiei in term of points.

again a great ep.
From last ep to this Chiaki x Sora's duet is so powerful and best thing happened for the team ❤️. I just love see Sora's 3 points, it makes me feel satisfied. And from this ep we got another duet Momoharu & Yasuhara, I expect so much from them.

sadly there are only 4 ep. left :( , any news about new season ??

Momoharu!!!!!!!!!!!! MY BOY

Great episode. Sad that I’m almost done with it. Really love these characters.

Also only realised now that little detail of Tsukasa in the background during Madoka’s shot in the OP when she’s gazing away

but i’ll probably remember over and over again

They really are making a comeback, I kinda hope they win this match but knowing they are going against a higher level team while their team mostly concists of beginners and players who not long ago returned to the sport makes me thing this will end in a lose.
