| There are lot of animes with good animation or good story, but you can't just simultaneously like both of them sometimes. Two of the examples that I had with this issue was mainly Kekkai Sensen and SAO. Both series have awesome animation quality and we should at least acknowledge them tbh. But I just can't seen to be fond of the stories they try to make. Kekkai Sensen was like Leonardo: I have to make my little sister go back to normal Me: Ok Leonardo: But first, we'll save the world! Me: Wut (and this loops for 12 episodes) And SAO was like Kirito: I am the fxxking strong and I'll defeat everybody Me: Why Kirito: Cuz I am a main character Me: Wut (and this loops for 72+ episodes) Have you guys ever had this kind of issue? Which animes did you have this issue with? |

| kimetsu no yaiba the fight scenes were awesome especially that weird house and the demon who killed young girls, character design was pretty original and it suited my taste. I din't like the story. 4star stories the animation is on another level, can't even explain it in words, everything has movement there, it's a feast for the eyes. The story was lacking mostly because the manga is long and has a complicated plot, they only did 1 hour or so and almost everything is original and it's not that good |

| FLCL is the prime example for this I would say. I could also list a bunch of movies, which are often guilty of this because they have more budget and less time constraints for the animation quality, but more time constraints for actually putting on a decent and conclusive story in just 1,5 - 2,5 hours. |

| Garden of Words and 5 centimeters per second : gorgeous animation but all the rest was meh Sword Art Online : it had a very good animation since Alicization, however the current arc is a disaster. Its only redeeming qualities are the animation and the soundtrack Fire Force (I don't really dislike the story, but it's not the best one ever written) |
| Sword Art Online has great animation but the story is shit the first season was was good then after that it became more and more shitty and now it has become just a harem show "Power of HAREM is the greatest power there can be" As u have seen in the recent episodes this show has become really cringe i wont spoil anything but if u have seen the show u would know that |

| Danganronpa 3 has decent animation and visuals but the story is wank. Both future and Despair arcs are underwhelming. There are some good scenes here & there but it should've been a lot better than that Zankyou no Terror has very good animation, great set pieces and a promising 1st half but then the story falls flat during the midpoint. I wish it got a remake Charlotte is another one. Pretty much the same as the previous two mentioned. |

| I feel like there's a fair few that fit that mould but the ones that instantly come to mind: Garden of Words: Looks totally next level animation wise. I was honestly mesmerised by how beautiful it looked but the story is completely flat and boring to me, not totally horrible but completely forgettable - something about shoes and a teacher? Karigurashi no Arrietty: Ghibli movies will (almost) always look amazing and Arrietty definitely looks great but I hated this film. The worst Ghibli film I've seen (and I've seen them all except Grave of the Fireflies). Unpopular opinion I know. |

| violet evergarden, lol, I don't know how many times I've said it in this month alone. I'm probably making people go nuts with "Violet Evergarden is boring!" I do and don't want to say The Promised Neverland. It's still a really good anime, I'm just a bit anal about how it pales in comparison to the manga. I've said it time and time again like the Violet Evergarden stuff, muh removed internal dialogues making the anime a blatant horror rather than a psychological one. just saying the same old stuff, lol |

| Dororo. I loved almost everything from the art style to the colour composition and the atmosphere of the background. It really feels like you are in medieval Japan. But the story wasn't that good. Dororo, the deuteragonist, didn't do much. Hyakimaru did something at least but his overall story wasn't that unique at all. The side villains are more interesting than the main villain. |

| Maquia, I'm still baffled at how...bad and confusing the story was like i literally dont know how it was approved but the animation was gorgeous. Wings of honneamise is probably the best example of this though, largely forgotten because the story isn't anything special but amazing design and animation, the worldbuilding through visuals is soooo good. RIP |

| I guess you can say Kimetsu no Yaiba. But let me specify that I'm talking about animation alone. Even the direction of the show was terrible and people seems to ignore that. Slow paced battles contributed to the feeling of lack of stakes, and that pacing affected the comic relief scenes as well, where a joke got dragged way too much and lost comic timing |

| Huh I thought I was the only one who didn't like Kekkai Sensen much because of its shoddy writing. Liked the animation though because it's Bones. Guilty Crown is atrocious but I liked the direction at parts and the animation was good. Glasslip looked fantastic but is hot garbage. |

| Definitely agree with SAO.. I was captured to watching SAO especially because i saw the OP and how the animation is really good. But even now i can't really pass through S1 because the story really isn't.. makes me interested?? Even tho my taste is really generic... Also.. Chaos Dragon (?). I gave it 9 because it was really pretty (lol). But the story is.. idk.. i can't even remember because too many narator talk.. |
