The official website of the television anime adaptation of Akutami Gege's Jujutsu Kaisen (Sorcery Fight) manga revealed the production staff on Wednesday. TOHO animation also posted the first promotional video. The anime series will air on Fridays at 1:25 a.m. on MBS and TBS' Super Animeism programming block in October 2020.

Staff
Director: Seong-Hu Park (Garo: Vanishing Line, Banana Fish assistant episode director)
Series Composition, Script: Hiroshi Seko (Dorohedoro, Vinland Saga)
Character Design: Tadashi Hiramatsu (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, Yuri!!! on Ice)
Music: Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Dr. Stone), Yoshimasa Terui (Houseki no Kuni opening theme composition), Arisa Okehazama (The God of High School)
Studio: MAPPA

Junya Enoki (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze), Yuuma Uchida (Qualidea Code), and Asami Seto (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai) are starring as the main characters Yuuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki, respectively. Yuuichi Nakamura (World Trigger) is reprising from the 2018 promo series as Satoru Gojou. Junichi Suwabe (Gangsta.) will voice Ryoumen Sukuna.

Jump GIGA serialized a four-chapter prototype by Gege titled Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Koutou Senmon Gakkou (Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School) between April and July 2017. The supernatural action manga joined Weekly Shounen Jump's regular lineup the following March. Shueisha published the tenth volume on March 4, with the 11th volume planned for a June 4 release. Jujutsu Kaisen has a cumulative 4.5 million copies of its volumes in print.

VIZ Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English simultaneously with the Japanese release as a part of its Jump Start initiative. The company now simulpublishes the series digitally through its new Shounen Jump service. The third volume shipped on April 7. Shueisha also began simulpublishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform last January.

like i said on other threads lol is the director gonna die from overwork "karoshi"? he is also the director of God of High School but hopefully that means that God of High School production is finished already but thats like wishful thinking or so rare when it comes to the anime industry

The PV for this looks great and as a fan of the manga, this is making me feel pretty hyped for it.

The director is same as GOHS, this summer. The rumor are true, so expect some hit or miss adaption. MAPPA is loaded this year.

Both this and God of High School looks slick! Hopefully Seong-Hu Park and MAPPA aren't overworking themselves. The anime is lacking the sketchy art-style of the manga, but it's hard to complain when the animation itself looks quite clean.

Low budget with heavy korean quality, even picks out the guy that is good with rough lines that the manga has but it's ruined because of the low quality of the animators.

I would sue of I were the mangaka, what a mess.

Damn, that looks good! Coming out on October as rumored earlier too, that's fantastic!

Hopefully, the Director and Studio MAPPA aren't overdoing themselves here, though.

Seeing how this was trending on Twitter for a while following the announcement and all the hype around it, I'm guessing this could turn out to be some watch if the Studio manages to deliver so here's to hoping that'll prevail!

found some educated guess(?) from a sakuga expert

GOH has a different crew but it's also incredibly stacked. The best case would be that GOH staff joins JJK right after they're done. https://twitter.com/Bloodyredstar/status/1262996395449102336

so ye its implied that GOH is nearing completion of its production already so at least GOH will look good all through out then later they gonna pour all the talent to Jujutsu Kaisen to compensate for the poor production schedule i guess so thats good enough since ace animators usually does not need much time to draw things anyway

also that YonkouProductions leak a year back
Jujutsu Kaisen anime is by Studio MAPPA

Just get out of this thread. You clearly know nothing about animation. Also I am glad it's not as rough as the manga because that's not just a style of the author, he's actually not that good at drawing. Let's be honest the art is not that good when it comes to the characters and backgrounds though he's monsters designs are on point.
I am glad MAPPA gave them a nice clean detailed look.

From what I have see this is quite a generic entry into the supernatural genre. Weeeeeell... Mappa is know to either hit or miss, so I will give them the benefit of doubt while they are flipping a coin. We will see.

With MAPPA adapting this. I can see GOH is getting only 12 ish eps.

But how many eps will Jujutsu Kaisen have...

Quite enjoyed the atmosphere of this trailer, didn't show a lot in terms of animation though. I'm a little on the fence because of MAPPA, because they tend to be kind of hit or miss for me. I loved Inuyashiki, but I found Dororo, when trying to be more serious, was just kind of boring

PV looks promising granted my experience with MAPPA on Dororo hopes this is only going to be 1 cour or that it doesn't fall off with regards to it's animation in the second half. Well always game for a new battle shonen.

there is netflix japan and there is netflix international. it's probably the first, as it was not netflix exclusive and aired in TV time slot not owned by netflix. nothing about international release information has been released yet, but as time slot suggested, netflix is not funding this.

I read a bit of the manga some time ago and found it quite fun, has potential to make an entertaining anime. I like what I see from this PV, hopefully production doesn't fall apart midway through like most of MAPPA's shows.
