 The official website of the Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-) anime series revealed on Tuesday that its second season will debut in April 2020.The website also announced that an edited version of the first anime season will begin airing on January 1, 2020. The new edition will recompile the 25-episode season as one-hour episodes and contain new scenes. The edited version will air on AT-X at 10:30 p.m., followed by Tokyo MX, BS11, and Sun TV, among other stations. A key visual for the new edition was also revealed (pictured right). Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu adapts Tappei Nagatsuki's adventure fantasy light novel, which premiered in Spring 2016. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu: Memory Snow, the first original video animation, opened in theaters in Japan last October. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu: Hyouketsu no Kizuna, which covers the prequel novel included with the first Blu-ray volume, screened in Japan on November 8. Nagatsuki began penning the novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in April 2012. Kadokawa began publishing the series with illustrations by Shinichirou Ootsuka through its MF Bunko J imprint in January 2014. The 21st volume went on sale on September 25. Source: animate Times |

| Spring 2020 is going to be fudging lit with this + Oregairu Season 3! Super-duper looking forward to this! They've kept us waiting for ages but I'm still bloody hyped, this is one of those anime that was painful to watch weekly but I still really value that experience (=> single-handedly responsible for making me the Seasonal watcher that I'm now in fact). Spring 2016 - Spring 2020 reminds me of Shingeki no Kyojin (Spring 2013 - Spring 2017), on another note lol. I'm just as hyped for this as back then too, what a coincidence. Hopefully, CR will stream those 1 hour edited versions though. I feel like more will be skipped than added over all but we want to get the same warm-up as the Japanese too, right? Edit: Just read the bit "and contain new scenes" from above. Hoping CR will sub this even more now! |

| Ayyy that's great to hear. I guess I'll start reading the novels (as well as the content that hasn't been translated and released by Yen Press yet) as I doubt their releases will catch up and cover much of the new season's content by the time it airs. Spring season 2020 is gonna be the best with Re:Zero now in it. Extremely hyped for this and hope it's just as good, if not, better than the first season. Also Emilia is still best girl. no arguments |
