| warning: (kind of?) spoilers for non manga readers i've heard that season 1 will be 12 episodes long, but i can't find a reliable source, is this true? the fact that juno has been shown in the trailers worries me, i doubt they'd introduce the character and not arrive to her dance in the end of the meteor festival arc but that would mean they would also have to show the shishigumi, and i think a 12 episode series is NOT enough for that any thoughts on this? |

| My early guess is that they'll adapt the books with 2 episodes each. Which means we'll be at the end of the 6th book or somewhere around. I haven't read up until that point but it is clear they'll adapt the shishigumi arc since they announced a cast for the mayor. Yes, it is a fast adaptation to say the least, not that it can't work here since there's fluff around the side cast they could just ignore and keep it as manga exclusive or ... OVAs ! |

| It's a studio Orange 3DCG show. It should be 12 episodes since they go hard on their CG shows. |
| I have a feeling they might rush it. Episode 1 already covers chapters 1-3, changing lots of dialogues and scenes. It didn't turn out so bad, and I can only hope the rest will be just as well adapted. If they end the 1st season at the end of the meteor festival, that'd be chapter 47. They'd have to adapt like 4 chapters per episode. Sounds a bit risky... |

| I'm not sure, usually when Netflix hosts an Anime, how long is it? I remember Baki being long, around 20+ episodes. I'm not sure if they'll grant Itagaki Paru the same pleasure since her manga is a bestseller, won awards and she's the daughter of Itagaki Keisuke. |

| At best, a split cour but I can see this be a 1-cour instead with the timeslot. We'll have to see. |

Well i heard a lot that season 2 is coming, sooooooo i think it might only get 12/13 for season 1 Anyway, a 2nd season wouldn't be much of a surprise since unlike Land of the Lustrous , the manga still has more than a hundred chapters to be adapted from into anime. At least, getting a conclusion to the first plot point presented which is Team's murder would be nice. Also, the pace got way better than I thought it would at first, they even included Legom's story lol. Orange successfully done the tradition ! |
| I am praying to god that with the pacing so far, 24 episodes. I mean I wouldn't be surprised, Beastars was super popular in Japan before the anime so it wouldn't be risky at all for a 24 episode adaptation of Beastars |

So there are 2 options for animators: 1)Season contains 12-13 episodes and ends before continuation of investigation. 2)It contains 24-25 episodes and captures the entire investigation arc. Well, there's actually a 3rd option(animators "compress" the manga and somehow manage to show everything in 12-13 episodes), but it will completely ruin the pacing and narration, so I doubt Orange'll do it. |

Smh Anywoo, I've calculated the way the pacing of the anime is going and .... They probably won't finish the Festival arc at this rate since after looking through the books and making some educated guess as to how they'd need to structure the next episodes, they might end up on the ending of the fifth volume which ends on a litteral cliffhanger lol. "What about cutting stuff to fit the adaptation ?" Yes, but no. Every upcoming chapters are too important to get litteraly cut from the scenario, they can obviously ignore some small talk and what not but the litteral pacing would fall apart if they tried to cut something too big. Really hope they have a 2nd season announcement prepared at the end cuz people could feel cheated by it's conclusion. Or they just butch the last portion of the season by skipping a LOT of stuff. I have faith in Orange though, everything will work ! ... Somehow. |

Also, Netflix will finally release the series in the west after this month which is gonna be another boost of awareness for the series which despite Netflix hell made some waves in the community. Or Orange just goes on another series or Houseki no Kuni Season 2,lol. |

Or Orange just goes on another series or Houseki no Kuni Season 2,lol. ive noticed beastars has been quite a hit among western fans! it already has a 8.2+ rating here on MAL. additionally the manga was already quite popular in japan, and since the tv channel were it airs and the magazine it serializes in share the same name (+ultra) a serialization noob like me can only guess theyre related. it seems a second season is very likely, im gonna hope for that |
