If you could change one scene in an anime, like add or remove anything, an event, even a character and/or what they say, what would it be and why? Would it change drastically the anime?

Shingeki no Kyoujin s2 (the reveal of the colossal Titan and armored Titan) I would change that scene, reason is I hated it, it came out of nowhere and was a cop-out.

That was awful and heartbreaking. I wouldn't say that it was something that ruined it for me or that I would change. But, wow... it really was very difficult to watch.

I wish Kaori and Kousei performed on stage at least one more time. Since we're being sorta specific, I'd say to change that she didn't colapsed before their Love's Sorrow presentation. But that would change it somehow. That point was when Kousei finally was able to play the piano completely again.

After Lelouch "said the thing." I distinctly remember pausing the video and saying in my head ' wtf, Lelouch isn't that stupid. He wouldn't say something like that even as a joke. And he knows his power might X at any moment.' I then paused the video and five seconds later I want to throw something at high velocity. I personally take it as a cop out from choosing between writing a story that makes sense and actually committing to Lelouch being an irredeemable bastard. Then two minutes later they jump into the enemy's most powerful mech which is left unguarded with the keys in the cockpit, and I just cant even.

totally agree it felt like the show wasn't willing to make Lelouch an antihero who only cared about destroying Britannia or a good guy who wanted to free Japan. So instead we got cheap shock value

I would add every characters' backstories and desires in Angel Beast. Like, what did my boi TK want? Why did he end up there?

I would remove that scene with Ace in One Piece.

I would remove the Tsukasa dude from Dr. Stone entirely. He's just an overpowered dude with a nonsense logic.

The final scene of episode 1 of SAO. The anime/story should have ended there and then and that way it would unanimously be recognized as a masterpiece.

Everything that followed after that was vomit inducing.

probally the last scene in anohana, i could see why people thought it was sad but the last scene really killed the mood in a very cringy type of way. Maybe even redoing it could've made it better. that solely brought anohana from a 5 to a 4 for me

Was thinking this myself. I don't think I hated it as much as you did, since I still felt it was a 10/10, but that was the biggest blemish on an otherwise masterpiece

I could talk about extensive changes that involve multiple episodes, but for one specific thing that I think could be changed to improve one specific part of one specific episode, I'd make the first half of episode 7 (I think) of Soukou no Strain less silly.

The rest of the story is pretty serious, and I guess they were trying to go for a lighter tone? But it just feels jarring and hardly interpretable in the same light as the rest of the story. It's one of those things where a character does some things that are blatantly stupid if you take them even at all seriously.

I agree. I didn’t like the show either. I will admit it was very sad, but that was kinda the whole point of the show anyways. I thought the screaming and crying at the end was kinda annoying tbh.

The ending of Another, up until that point I was super into it but then it just all fell apart in a way that didn't make much sense even by that show's standard. A lot of things could have been handled better.

that scene included and the thematics of obligation and sentiment during the first are linked to that.

I think that Konatsu needed to be his son to answer one of the questions in the story, and it also adds to his character. Like you said the blood tie theme does appear in the story and with Konatsu included it explores a taboo layer to it.

Agree to disagree then. Given the chance I'd still remove that reveal scene entirely.

fair enough but I don't know how you say that an emphasis on blood ties wasn't in the series, and I don't see how you can say that reveal was poorly written. I think it should praised for it's approach to a taboo subject.

In the last episode of SAO aincrad where kirito is facing heathcliff and he gets stabbed and we see a imagined sequence in kirito's head of him falling backwards with a black background and shattering then resembling himself meaning it didn't happen it was a parrell scene from early on with the boar where he imagines himself if he charged in without thinking due to the perma death function where we see the same scene but without the resembling part .
