It's out on Amazon Prime.

Yeah, this has thriller and suspense all over it. Seizaki is the main guy looking into a case when he discovers a strange document. I heard the show is made of several arcs so it this seems to be the One Drop of Poison one.

A lot of potential in this considering the thriller-suspenseful story for this.

Wasn't it supposed to release on September 7th 23:00 Japan Time?
And 3 episodes at once?

"The first arc Itteki no Doku, which is comprised of the first three episodes, will have an advanced streaming on Amazon's Prime Video platform on October 7 at 12:00 a.m. The anime will begin airing on Tokyo MX the same day at 10:00 p.m., followed by BS11 and AT-X."

That is from MAL article, for some reason we all blanked on this announcement

Does this mean we're gonna have to wait 3 weeks for the next episode like with Vinland Saga? Because if that's the case then I have literally no idea why anime studios keep doing this - that singlehandedly killed the hype for Vinland Saga, a show that should've dominated the summer anime season.

So it's Vinland saga case just we are going to have 3 episodes in advance, but after this we have to wait till TV broadcast caches up.

For sure, I even did a quick search but I literally found nothing about it.

I hope they do not stop releasing new episodes for the next 3 weeks.

Yes, you have to wait till October 27/28. It was just an advanced streaming on Prime, this is not the first time they're doing this.
October 27/28 is when Episode 4 airs and then it follows up like every other anime.

Didn't hear (yet) that they will pull a Boogiepop here, so...

Damn, wasn't expecting Fumio to end up like this.

Ok start. I mean, I usually like myself some mystery-thriller and maybe I'm not in the mood today, but this one feels kinda dry. I will still stick with it for now.

Edit: Appreciate the episode a lot more after a rewatch and the sublety is quite nice.

Interesting first episode, the end of the episode hyped me for the rest of the story.
So we have 3 episodes in one day, that's cool but we have to wait 3 weeks after that.
Btw I really like the ending song

Thriller is one of my favorite genres but i felt that the episode was pretty boring and confusing.

The soundtrack at the end was really good though and the final scene made me intrigued.

The newest show from FLCL Progressive collab studio Revoroot definitely is what it looks and sounds like: a thriller show.

However, the first episode just isn't very friendly to newcomers as it puts us in the case rightaway, straightforward without context. Guess the staff wants us to experience Halloween early..

And to boot,

Yes, same feelings unfortunately. The sidekick Fumio from the MC Seizaki is just that typical oneshot character who acts out of provision. That "suicide" at the ending, wow it spooked me.

Further confirmation that this is the 1st story arc (One Drop of Poison), hopefully the 2 episodes thereafter will deal with the entire situation better than this prologue.

Oh shit, didn't expect a main character to die so quick. This is quite interesting, more on the mature side so I don't expect it to have a high score on MAL but it's exactly what I've been seeking.

I knew one of the two was gonna die this episode, but I thought it'd be Seizaki (what with him saying to his wife that he'd be late and also having a young child).
Good episode overall, but the details of their case bugged me a little.

1) They are prossecutors, not policemen. They shouldn't be out there on stake outs.

2) They are jumping to too many conclusions and getting way ahead of themselves. Why is their boss already talking about possibly arresting the front runner to the mayoral election? There is zero evidence of anything against him or anyone else related to him at this point. If they were policemen (which they aren't, despite doing investigative police work) they could be accused of being biased and willingly steering the investigation towards this candidate, which is a huge no no. All they know so far is that the secretary had been visiting a man who happened to die. Nothing strange about it so far. They could be old friends, they could have some business together, any number of things. Why are they following this man around instead of looking into possible connections between him and the doctor? And isn't it much more likely the death of the doctor is related to the pharmaceutical company instead of the election campaign? Nothing connects these two things at this point.

From the perspective of the viewers it all might make sense (we know there's a mystery there), but from the perspective of anyone else in the story their investigation is at best a waste of taxpayer money and at worst plain unlawful.

But again, this didn't bother me that much. I'm willing to accept that anime logic makes for a more dramatic story than correct legal proceedings.

Ahhhhhh, i fucking knew it! Cute, loyal kohai... death flag alert! I'm actually so sad about that death 😭 Also hindsight is a wonderful thing; on the key visual it shows Fumio with paper around his neck...

Well this first episode has successfully hooked me! I love the way it just jumped straight to the real shit and how delightfully twisted it was within minutes of starting!

I've been craving a good psychological crime thriller anime for ages!

This one already started in an intense way. Seizaki is most certainly going against someone "powerful" enough to be "above the law." That last scene got me, I didn't see it coming at all. I could swear that Fumio was going to be one of the main characters, and they just erased him like that. I mean, he didn't kill himself just like this. I wonder if they made him write that message himself, or if he was able to leave something behind. The mood, and tone feel heavy on this one, and I just know that I'm hooked, and worried.

I think I've found my surprise show of the season. Almost didn't watch it because something about the PV struck me as odd, but glad I did, this seems really interesting. I'll see if the next two episodes hold up as well (since all three are already out) but already this has grabbed me a lot more than some other shows this season.

Alright the ending was pretty damn surprising. Besides that the episode was fine. It was pretty fast paced with a lot of dialogue. I couldn't really get interested with the case. Hopefully it will start to grow on me more. I will definitely watch the other 2 episodes and probably continue with this anyway.

The animation of the cars was giving me some early Initial D flashbacks. They look completely out of place and jarring.

I can't say this episode pulled me in. The pacing seems unnecessarily fast. You need to give the viewer at least a minute or two to process what is happening.

Currently the characters are in this uncanny valley between well developed and trope due to their given demeanor, however this is episode one and characters can be built over time.

Again, this is episode 1 and it is a procedural cop drama which means it needs a bit of time to build monument if done correctly. Hopefully the next two episodes are better because there were definitely warning signs in the writing that this is not going to be good.

The tension was so well done.

The paper being glued by blood gave me goosebumps. I wasn't expecting that at all.

I thought I was only imagining the death flags that the person, who I'd assumed was the protagonist, was raising. Well, now I am sad and quite horrified!

Since they used the word "danjou" when talking about the couple, I expected the male partner to be a young guy. Didn't think he'd be another Donald Trump character. Why are there so many of him in recent animes? I don't think there were any anime characters that resembled other presidents from the US.
