| I gave a 4 to Steins Gate and dropped it because it was too slow and I couldn't bring myself to keep watching. I gave Vinland Saga (in my opinion, a very well-deserved) 4 and a lot of its fans raged at me for it. Unfortunately, some of them also took it out on KNY which I rated a 10. Sometimes I think I'm enjoying it too much.. This rile up, ridicule, and laugh routine. |
| I don't think they're controversial, but there was a few people who got angry for giving low scores to some shows they loved, and on the other hand also some people who were like "you have such a good taste so why you gave 9/10 to shit like SnK", lol. I think that the only controversial score on my list is 1/10 to FMA:B which I gave recently after all this mess on MAL. The first and only time when I got annoyed by the shitty fans so much it directly influenced my opinion on the anime. |

| I don't think that i have received an insight on what i rated "wrong" yet, besides maybe liking Goblin Slayer. Well, it's not like if it's matter, right? Everyone have the right to like trash if they want. Like I can read an essay about how factually bad Madoka was and my score won't change because of it. |

| I'd say yes since I've rated low or very low a lot of highly acclaimed titles by consensus, because they were just not my thing at all or didn't resonate with me at the slightest. (The most notable case probably Ping Pong with a 1/10). However, if by any chance I've made "mad" anyone with any of them, well not only that is not my problem nor anything I should feel bad/worried for, but also something that would really make me question his/her priorities in life. No one should care about anyone's scores. |

| No my scores seem fairly normal. A friend disagreed with my fairly low SAO score and by the fact that I scored the second season higher than the first but he's a big fan so I understand. |

| Hunter x hunter is the one i've had a few people comment on. I gave it a 3/10 and dropped it after 14 episodes. I always get nagged to continue it. Like spending 4 hours on an anime i hate watching wasn't enough already to tell if i like it or not. No one has called me out on these ones, but i'm sure there's a few people would be sent into a rage if they knew i rated, Railgun a 2/10 and Re:Zero and Shinsekai Yori a 3/10. |

Real controversy is not happening, but definitely a lot of disagreement, been called out few times over the years. mostly about comparisons 'you rate this X while rating that Y, what?!' Low score for Tex(4), high score for DxD(8), perfect score for KLK, a 5 for Psycho Pass, outlaw star(9) higher than cowboy bebop(7), 2 for shigatsu. these come to mind, but there's definitelly more that people could have a 'problem' with i dont give a shit, i know I'm not wrong about any of this |

| Also , I'd like to add that I find it absurd that people rate the anime they have dropped, the beginning episodes are not always the actual representation of the show, I've found myself enjoying anime in the second half and thus increasing their scores, if I had dropped them in the first half and rated it according to the first half, it would have been a fake score because it doesnt take second half into account. Ngl, even I'm guilty of rating shows I dropped in the past, but then I realised it and removed the scores from them. |

| Yeah, very controversial. Sometimes I even get mad with my own scores. I usually ask myself: Why haven't you dropped all those 2- or 3-score titles? Man, these two shows are the same, why do you give one of them a high score and another gets a low? Well, dunno, I guess that's how "taste" works. Sometimes people poke me like: Why is your mean score so low (5.5), do you waste your time on shitty shows you don't even like? Why the hell you watched the whole Zero no Tsukaima franchise and give all the seasons a 2? Why have you been watching 900 episodes of One Piece and give it only a 4? |

| It all depends what some people consider a 'controversial' method for scoring anime shows. Some people believe that you should use the entire 1-10 scale, whereas others rate shows comparatively (essentially comparing how they enjoyed each show subjectively). No matter how you score someone out there is going to disagree with you, lol, that's just how we fans of anime do things, kukuku. Personally I have an average score of 7.57, which some people think is high. I also find that I only score shows 5 and above. This is because imho any show that would get a score below 6 I would drop after a couple of episodes. Alternatively I try and research shows before I watch them, so I expect to like them, and thus they usually get a score of 6 or higher. It would be too late for me to start scoring shows differently now (for example using the whole 1-10 scale) to give an extra level of gradation to my scores. |
