| Why do most reverse harem MCs always have small boobs ? I find that quite stupid and illogical from a probability perspective, considering that in real life, a majority of the planet's female population either have average size boobs or big ones ( including those who are...um...fat ? ) Those that have small boobs are quite the tiny minority, so I wonder why must reverse harem MCs especially those from a typical Shoujo manga-style story must always have small boobs. I get it that they want to portray that the guys are not attracted to her due to her outward appearance, but to her inner personality, but IMHO, why not both ? A female MC can be charming not only for the inner personality charms, but also on the sex appeal factor. For example, a female MC starring in a future reverse harem anime can be also an OP character with big boobs especially if she would be a good Succubus or Vampire or something like that, who is not evil but only the urge to want to suck some energy from her male harem members whenever her magic or mana runs out ( kinda like a reverse gender version of Masou Gakuen ? ) Such an assertive MC that also has some sort of sex appeal but would also be respectful to her male comrades would also be appealing for male viewers than the typical weak-willed small-boobed boring Shoujo manga MC, right ? |

| Because the girls aren't the important part of a reverse harem. A lot of them are adapted from otome games where the MC is a self insert for the player. would also be appealing for male viewers Reverse harems are made for female audiences, there's really no need for them to cater to an audience they aren't intended for. And like you said, those from shoujo manga are made for the shoujo demographic - teenage girls. There are definitely smutty shoujo manga out there, but most of the demographic just wants a fluffy story of a normal girl being centred around a bunch of hot guys. I'm sure the mangaka doesn't care enough to give their MC sexualised features when they know their audience is mainly here for the dudes. If you want more a sexualised reverse harem, I'd suggest looking at material in the josei demographic. |

So the intended audience (in this case teenage girls) will have an easier time projecting themselves onto a character if they look like a version of how they see themselves. If there's one thing I dislike about anime (and I genuinely think it might be the only real problem I have with the culture) is these ridiculously, grotesquely, freakishly big boobs. I think, to actually be in to that is a wierd fetish. There is a size beyond which you no longer have a taut, firm, round breast, but instead a wobbly ball of meat. Breasts lose all their beauty when they look like this. There's nothing feminine (cute, modest, dainty, petite) about them at all. I find completely flat girls 10x more attractive than girls with boobs exceeding about D cup. Most guys, thankfully, prefer normal sized boobs. The proportion of guys that prefer D+ cups is only about 30% on average, although this varies wildly depending on what region you survey. But it never goes over 50% from what I've read. Considering the way otaku culture celebrates youthfulness to the exagerrated extent it does with lolis and such, it's weird that so many shows choose to give girls idiotically sized boobs. It's kind of in the minority outside of hentai though, but it's a shame there isn't more fan service heavy shows with average sized boobs. It's all extremes of lolis or giant tit monsters. Also, I think OP greatly overestimates what the average boob size is across most of the world. It's about a B cup. The average in most of asia being an A cup. I wish more anime girls looked like reverse harem MCs. |

| They're mostly normal sized, you probably just find them small because male-targeted anime give you a skewed perspective on what 'average' is because on 'average' the tits are oversized in a lot of those shows. |

| I guess it's to make MC look more plain. The whole point of reverse harem is a fantasy where plain girl (so it's easy for anyone to identify with MC I guess) gets popular with bishounens. I think that since big boobs are traditionally considered more attractive in anime (though I have no idea why since plenty of people prefer them small) it would go against the MC being plain as she would already have a redeeming feature. I guess it's same reason why harem MCs all have dark eyes and hair and no redeeming features to speak of. |

They state US+Cda are outliers in terms of weight greatly affecting breast size (in women who haven't lactated yet or had any breast modifications ie. surgery). As someone who has very large breasts with a very small waist (like, +10in difference), all I think about with big-breasted anime girls is the back-pain they endure and how annoying running becomes.
