Iino for sure, her life is miserable and she deserves some love, plus her and ishigami playing off eachother is pretty much a classic shoujo couple. Maki needs love too, but id prefer her with a new character or something, shes too good for kashiwagis bf though. |

I'll be the one guy to vote for Maki so she gets some love. Even though I know it'll never happen, I do like the few moments they had together. In terms of the actual story I like Tsubame but with the latest chapter, I'm starting to see Iino more. The flags are there. |

Then I'll be the one guy to vote for Onodera, their doujin chapter was nice and I like her more than I like Tsubame or Iino anyways, also she falling for Ishi means she'd get more screentime, so it's a win-win Storywise before this week chapter I was really hopping that Iino and Ishigami would develop a really close relashionship but not as lovers, it would work well for them and we don't see much of it. Now I gave up on the navy and just want all of them, especially Maki, to be happy. |

Ishigami is my favorite character. He is lovable, relatable, and although puts up a disinterested mask on, he is always watching out for people around him. The latest chapter really showed the reader that, although he loves his porn mags, he is not someone who can just have a one night stand. Iino is the same as ishigami and watches out for him behind his back. They're perfect for each other. |

I was never rooting for anyone when it comes to Ishigami, anyone that wouldn't be a bitch to him when they become a couple would be fine for me, but Iino rubbed me the wrong way when she dealt those final blows before Ishigami fell off the stairs, the man was already depressed (not to mention suicidal at the moment too) as is, then she just had to criticize everything he did, there are times when you can criticize him but Jesus christ that was the absolute worst time for it and could have been the final straw as to why he wanted to (die) fall of the stairs. As for the other girls... feels like he'd do well with literally anyone of them, and yes even Iino, but out of all them I feel like he'd have the most problems with Iino once they start going out. She's way too needy compared to the others. Miko would have won major brownie points from me if she just kept her mouth shut and saved Ishigami when he was being suicidal, but with how everything went it looked more like she gave the final push for Ishi to have those thoughts. We can say even if Iino didnt criticize him he'd most likely still be suicidal, but what Im getting at is it looked like she gave that final push for him to go through with it. That being said, nice save tho, theres a 50-50 chance he really would have died depending on how he'd fall. I've got some personal bias with Maki tho, by far my favorite female char in the manga, next to Hayasaka. |

I was kind of shipping him with Miko at the start but Miko is really harsh despite Ishigami's best intentions. It felt like she wasn't making the effort to be friends with him where as Ishigami tried to. Although there are evidence that she did indeed try but its just the impression she gave off, not necessarily an objective observation. I wasn't hardcore shipping them at the start so I jumped to the Tsubame ship pretty quickly since they were cute together. However after the Christmas arc, I jumped back. There was red flags prior... her indecision being one. But it was truly sudden, so i understood her hesitation. Furthermore, he only finally got out of his shell, so it would be sad to be rejected like that. However after the debacle on Christmas eve, I don't think she is suited for Ishigami. Not a bad person, but pity sex... really? Yea no, that is a unhealthy relationship, and it is better for both of them to move on. As others have mentioned she is pretty under-developed. But I also agree with the person that said she is needed to represent Ishigami's naivety. And I would go even further to say that her lack of development is actually representative of ishigami's lack of knowledge on her. It was a first crush that spanned for a short period of time. He have no time to learn about her. This is backed up by the fact the author IS developing her. He revealed bits of her past already. She was involved in several bad relationships in the past for example. Our knowledge as the reader is running parallel with what Ishigami knows. As he start to learn more about her, we too will learn more. By the time Tsubame become a full-fledged character, Ishigami should start to get over his crush. Just my own predictions. As for Miko, I honestly did not like how he added salt to his wounds immediately after. She isn't that considerate and have quite the foul mouth and behavior. Usually it can be tolerated and she can change, but Ishigami was having suicidal thoughts. Sure she didn't realize he took the issue so seriously, but it still was unwarranted harsh comments, even after finding out he was crying. Could they work together after some time of development? Sure and that's what the author is planning but at this current state of things, I don't think Miko is the best person to be with him. He don't have a huge self-esteem so he don't need to have a girlfriend that puts him down any further. IMO Maki and Ishigami have a pretty friendly relationship and currently is the most healthy relationship he has barring Fujiwara and Shinomiya. They both are alone and seeking love, so it could work. But it is obvious they have a platonic relationship at this moment so i don't see it taking off. Maki is still stuck in the past, so I would still have to side with Miko X Ishigami since they have potential(as the author clearly intends it to) Maki and Ishigami seem to share quite a few similarities so I can see some interesting interactions there. Onodera is a no. She do appear to care for his well being but honestly, they seem to be just POTENTIAL friends more than anything. There isn't a lot in common between the two, so I can't even imagine what they would be doing together. |

I agree with the common theory that Ishigami will outgrow Tsubame, making her a stepping stone for his relationship with Iino, but Iino is going to need to develop a lot before she's ready for our boy, because let's face it: if she got together with him as she is now, it's going to be a very, very toxic relationship for Ishigami, seeing how needy and idealistic Iino is at the moment. But in terms of the longetivity of the series, it could work, since Iino has at least until Tsubame's March deadline to step up her game, and if it's anything like the other character development Akasaka-sensei has been giving us, it'll make for one hell of a ride. As far as I go, I'm in it for the ride. Tsubame is still coming out as a character, but that much was a given ever since she started receiving focus. In contrast, Maki is a fully recognised character that literally doesn't need to change to keep us entertained. In fact, the only thing wrong with her is that she keeps getting shafted by the plot. Tsundere-senpai deserves better... That said, the direction in which we're heading is most likely a stereotypical one, but its really not the destination that matters here, because as far as character development goes, I have no idea what Akasaka-sensei is going to pull. I can't even fathom a guess, and that just excites me more than ever. In the end, my point is that sparking conversations and Wild Mass Guessing like this is exactly what makes an airing/publishing series so exciting: it is the very definition of hype, and I can't get enough of it! |
