Bro the first one that ever made me cry was your lie in April to be honesty at first I thought it your normal slice of life romance anime but the hint of foreshadowing of wats to come kinda got me thinking , then at the last moment it truly got me in tears even though it was just an anime and not like I ever experience true love it true felt that my heart was split into when that happen wish they they got to perform in the end though btw

Not to be that guy but no anime, or any form of media for that matter, has made me cry.

If grave of the fireflies wont do it, will anything?

Surprised that NO ONE mentioned Fairy Tail. It's the only anime I've cried to, it has a LOT of emotion, many scenes that will bring you to tears. I reccomend you check it out.

That's such a good pick though. I forgot how upsetting that moment was. The kind of scene that makes no sense outside of context but in context is heartbreaking. Who would have thought that a mutant turtle-man would make me so sad?

I caught me of my guard when I was eating some basil and mozzarella focaccia-style bread, and I think it upset me so much because in the story (and the dubbed voice acting) it was implied that Komugi had special needs/learning disabilities, as well as being blind.........'Komugi could you.........hold my hand?'

Seriously.
I have never seen someone talk about this show before but it had me sobbing at the end.
Whether it was predictable or not, the director knew how to make some damn emotional scenes.

Banana Fish and Hinamatsuri made me cry recently. I felt heartbroken while I was watching them. After that, I already have moved on.

Also try watching Natsume Yuujinchou and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, they are also precious ones.

Yeah, Komugi had a very tragic life. I honestly didn't remember the learning disability aspect (it's been a while since I watched it), but her past of being rejected and deemed worthless I remember. That was so sad :/

She was so pure and innocent, the most innocent character from HxH IMO - her only happiness in life were those Gungi games, and Meruem.

See title. What anime have made you cry, and why? What parts of the show made you so emotional? Remember to spoiler tag anything if you want to go into detail.

Violet Evergarden - I basically cried the entire show
Madoka Magica - the end made me cry
Sora yori mo Tooi Basho - made me cry at the very beginning when Tamaki was talking about how it felt like her youth was slipping away without her achieving anything (very relatable)
Koe no Katachi - made me cry when Shouko was getting bullied

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - made me cry when

So what about you? How about if you generally don't get emotional at shows? I'm curious about that too!

Im an emotional kind of guy cause all the animes that made me cry were:

•Angel Beats-when it was at the very end and was the first anime that made me cry

•A Silent Voice-I pretty much cried when shouko kept getting bullied and when a sad moment took place

•Your Name-Also at the end when the two mains finally found each other

•Madoka Magica-At the end it was really sad when madoka disappeared

There might be others but I can't really remember right now

Koe no Katachi
Violet Evergarden
Angel Beats

Maybe some other shows did as well, but these are the ones I remember the most.

One piece has made me cry more times than I can count, but I think Assassination classroom was the most I cried in one sitting.

Other than that, maybe:
-Made in abyss
-Boku no hero academia makes me cry a lot for some reason
-Anohana
-Your lie in april
-Gintama (from laughing)
-etc.

Oufff... There are a lot of anime that have made me cry, more than I am proud to say. But here is the list

Your Lie in April
A Silent Voice (pretty much balling throughout the whole movie)
Tsuki ga Kirei
Iroduku: The World in Colours
Assassination Classroom S2
Your Name
Gakuen Babysitters
Bunny Girl Senpai (not too sure, but I am quite confident that I cried while watching this)
Koichoco (pretty sure about this as well)
Scum's Wish
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (don't remember if it was the anime or the manga)
Beatless
Devils Line (agian not sure if it was the manga or the anime)
Charlotte
Angel Beats (it was a while since I last saw this, so don't really remember)

Oh and Gintama (the whole series) made me cry because I couldn't stop laughing... I am a sucker for slapstick comedy.

Thanks for the correction.

On another note: Yay! Another person that appreciates Beatless. I was reading the reviews on that and was expecting the worst... but ended up being a decent sci-fi romance anime. Kinda don't understand why they bash on about Arata and Lacia, but I really did enjoy that anime a lot.
