The new season is getting moved to a different studio, and this one's a doozy. Studio DEEN is, in my experience, the worst-of-the-worst anime studio. I can't even begin to imagine the corners they'll cut and the bastardization the third season will be. Is anyone else concerned?

You see, the word concern implies that there's hope this might be good and worry that it won't be. There is no hope. Deen makes absolute garbage ordinarily. And one of the strongest points of this series is the fight scenes and animation which they REALLY cheap out on. If you have no expectations you won't be disappointed. It's a damn shame they gave it to such an incompetent studio.

Even though Deen has a track record for being horrible ( I strongly believe it is much better than some studios) the staff is what you should be looking at mostly, most are first timers (for Deen) however they did work on below average series so this is most likely going to be a miss.

Which studios do you consider worse than DEEN? I'm actually curious they were always the worst possible studio to me with Pierrot being like half a step up.

Silver Link, it almost always misses, more than DEEN and only produced two decent anime (imo) Baka no Test and Kokoro Connect

Diomedea never produced one thing I ever liked (imo) and what both studios have in common is very outdated animation, not fluid and poor direction

DEEN at least produced some pretty good series, such as Higurashi, Konosuba, Sankarea (it's pretty meh but I like it more than anything produced from Silver and Dio) Rurouni Kenshin, Fruits Basket despite being a poor adaptaion, it was still good on its own, and Shouwa Rakugo.

DEEN I believe, if they put effort and has good staff selection then it can produce quality.

This is my own opinion and surely an underrated one.

Really? Diomedia I understand since I don't think any of their stuff is good. But Silver Link is decent a good amount of the time. Revenge Kun was funny and though I'm not a huge fan of Prisma Ilya I can acknowledge that it was pretty well done. And the movie for it was great. Though they do have trouble getting decent source material. DEEN is able to play to its strengths and get us to ignore how bad it looks (Konosuba and Higurashi) or make it look decent (Sankarea) but with this series one of the selling points is the fights and animation. So I really don't think this'll be good.

Yeah I agree with you that DEEN is not strong when it comes to fights (same can be said about the other two studios) and that this anime's main selling point is the fighting animations and choreography so oh lord lmao it is most likely going to fail.

But overall, I honestly prefer DEEN over Silver-Dio imo

Deem made a lot of anime of quite wide variety of quality.
When they do good anime, it's masterpiece, when they do bad, it's garbage. It's hard to tell, but I'm still worries.

The anime so far has been a really shitty adaptation of the manga so it doesn't matter. Kodansha mishandled the anime for this.

At least the sequel isn't done by J.C. Staff...

What comes to Deen doing this, it could either be pretty good or bad, tho I am afraid it might end up on the worse part of the scale - still very interested on seeing how they'll pull this through.

Deen atleast has a record on being able to make some awesome animes, and beautiful even,
the only two problems being that this Sequel is a new anime, and it's not an OVA.
Intelligent gets through situations which wise avoids.

The situation isn't exactly hopeless, DEEN can surprise from time to time, especially with shows like Rakugo. But it's the same worry we all had with JC Staff, a studio who's best work are primary non action anime taking over a action anime. But I doubt that DEEN will disappoint to the same extend, it has way more experience with action than JC Staff had and it has a lower bar to meet than JC had with One Punch Man.

The only thing that you should be concerned about is whether they'll make it a horror anime XD

Well both of them are actually busy with other anime that are airing around the same time Nanatsu no Taizai airs.

A-1 pictures is working on SAO and CloverWorks is working on Fate/Grand Order. I would've expected them to have another group of animators working on Nanatsu no Taizai but I guess they already have their hands full with 2 other big names.

A1 is pretty busy indeed but as a matter of fact Fate/Grand Order is probably already finished. The show had downright impeccable scheduling. The main reason why A1 is not animating anymore is because of Aniplex bailing out of the production committee, as mentioned above.

The show went to DEEN but... it's not even DEEN animating it, they're outsourcing it to a studio called Marvy Jack. That studio did the entirety of... Junji Ito Collection for Studio DEEN.

In my opinion Nanatsu had potential in its early stages, i was really enjoying every character in the show and had a blast watching the first season. But then the stupid power system happened and the writing just started gradually going downhill with deus ex machina Merlin pulling spells out of her bum and the fodder tier final villain. So given how the writing is dog shit in the manga and the anime is also going through this situation, if there's no good animation to carry the weak writing then there's literally nothing of value left here. Therefore I'm probably going to skip on Nanatsu S3.

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately, since deen is ranked the worst studios, the season will either get rushed, or take a different route and not follow the fucking manga, like how they did with fate/stay night. in my opinion, i would prefer jc staff to take the season rather than deen.

edit: just a sidenote. all of this isnt true at all. it's my opinion, and it's something what i would expect from deen.

The animation quality will degrade but not that much. Nanatsu no Taizai's fights don't have complicated choreography anyway. It's mostly over-the-top action so if Deen can pull off some big explosions and exploding rocks then they're good to go.

it's dead fam Deen is the death kiss to anime.

You guys worry so much about the visuals and the animation the story is clitch and overexaggerating the classic annoying troupes of shonen with the worst possible way.

You know i don't mind the classic annoying troupes if they are done right but when you have a
story of a show that is nothing new and there had been other anime and manga with the same thing before you need to do something to stand out from the rest and this story, unfortunately, it tries to do that at the 1rst like 90 chapters but failed afterward.

Where was all the bitching when Konosuba first aired? People always worry too much when an anime changes studios like Konosuba w JC Staff.

Need I need to remind you guys that Konosuba was originally worked on by Deen?

The people here are mostly just worried about the animation. A lot of people were also bitching about Konosuba S2 animation when it was still airing not that it even mattered in the end since DEEN did a great job with Konosuba anyway. I don't know why people think it's the end of the world though. Nanatsu no Taizai was all about over-the-top shounen action. I'm sure DEEN can pull off animating a lot of exploding rocks or mountains.
