| Rewatched the 1st episode just out of curiosity. You might not like AoT in general but personally I can't really think of an anime that has a better first episode. Hannes' reaction in front of the titan at the end was probably the strongest point. |
| @Arrti, I totally agree with you here. Shingeki no Kyojin has this dazzling first episode and seeing his mother getting eaten to this day still sends a chill in my spine. Stunning stuff! Rewatching this for the third time now and marathoning the entire series in preparation to binging Season 3 Part 2! Just the thought of it is so fulfilling lol! “Just because the wall hasn’t been breached in a hundred years .. doesn’t mean it won’t be .. breached today” - Armin definitely called it but mad props to the Directing (as I always highlight)! And fudge, the Music! So bloody amazing, it’s hardly enough to sate it’s masterpiece value even then! It’s just fabulous how the buildups are so genuine and intriguing! Loved the bit before the Op loads too! Hannes’ reaction is undoubtedly was one of the most heavy realisations I’ve ever seen and it’s just .. crippling. Same goes for the Survey Corps returning back home scene. Rip Carla ;-; “That day, humans remembered the terror of being ruled by them. The humiliation of being kept in a cage” - Yikes, this is one gold quote I’ll always remember! Listening to Guren no Yuima is so amazingly nostalgic, excited to have this around for a cour! |

| A história do anime já começa interessante, nos mostrando logo de cara o conflito entre os humanos e os gigantes, também nos mostra como Eren não quer que os humanos sejam tratados como animais em gaiolas, ele quer livrar os humano desta situação. A sua irmã até então parece interessante, é séria, cuida do Eren e da medo nos valentões. E no primeiro episódio já nos mostra uma cena muito chocante e pesada, que é a morte da mãe deles, por um gigante. The history of the anime already starts interesting, showing us right away the conflict between humans and giants, it also shows us how Eren doesn't want humans to be treated like animals in cages, he wants to free humans from this situation. Her sister so far looks interesting, she is serious, takes care of Eren and fears the bullies. | I finaly decided to watch this highly praised anime due to the hype that season 4 is getting around anime community, as a first episode this is a very fantastic one, really hope whole series will continue to be something as cool as I witnessed here. 5/5 no doubt |
| Holy crap that was a really interesting first episode. The animation at the end when the mom dies and Mikasa and Eren are horrified is very well done. Hyped to keep watching |
| Golly, after all these years. This is definitely going to be an interesting re-watch. Even more so since I'm up to date with the manga and knowing stuff now that I obviously didn't when I first watched it. It will provide a different kind of experience. Anyway, that was pretty intense. I like how the anime was able to convey a sense of claustrophobia, helplessness and fear even before the Titans showed up. And when they did, shit got crazy! Damn, the mom's already gone in the first episode! I know these characters are fictional, but just imagining my own mom in that kind of situation, just makes my heart sink. Ugh |
| I just read what equates to the first season of AOT in manga and my reward is watching this! Amazing start. I really contemplated watching this in sub or dub and while I often prefer sub (especially in this genre of anime) I chose dub just because I love Josh Grelle and Bryce Papenbrook. Back to the content itself.. I got a little teary-eyed when Eren was screaming for his mother. I rarely get emotional within the first episode so I know this is going to hurt me emotionally. Either way I can't wait to see how everything plays out the rest of this season. :) |

| I am incredibly late to the party, but it's better late than never. Now that was an intense episode, if the rest is similar then I can definitely see why itis so popular. At first I thought it was a bit boring but as soon as the titans arrived, I was hooked. I also "love" the titans' design, I mean they look very ugly but that's what I like, they really look horrific just as they should. |
