It used the typical "gotta get stronger to protecc my friends" theme popular at the time. Most people say to skip this one. If you watch it at all, watch it first. Fate/Zero came out second, it is a prequel of F/SN. Great plot, lots of characterization, not a lot of character growth. Most people like this one. Watch after F/SN if you decided to watch F/SN, otherwise order doesn't matter. Fate/Unlimited Blade Works is a retelling of F/SN, same characters, completely different plot and character development. Fate/Apocrypha is completely standalone. No one liked the mc, other characters are ok. That's it. I'm probably missing a few but i never played the game so... Oh, i almost forgot, i recommend watching Kara No Kyoukai as well. It's in alternate version, don't know at what time. Thanks, appreciate it! |

| dont watch original fate stay night its an abomination , like literally one of the worst pieces of trash ever created u dont even need to watch it because its technically just an alternate version of UBW that focuses on Sabers Route from the VN technically while UBW focuses on Rin and heavens feel focuses on sakura Follow Mila91s advice 1. Fate Zero 2. Fate Zero Season 2 3. Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works 4. Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works Season 2 this basically its the best order imo and heavens feel but wait for 2020 so u can watch the whole thing at once :P |

| Fate Zero + Fate Zero Season 2 is the start of the main Plot if you want to understand everything in the other ones you should watch this first. Then its either Fate/stay night or Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works + Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works Season 2 They are alternative storys. You probably want to watch UBW (Unlimited Blade Works) first to understand some things in the older Fate stay night that arent really explained. |

| i eddited my answer @MountainOfIrony i havent watched heavens feel yet but basically original FSN is the saber route(shitty adaption), UBW is Rins Route(well adapted ) and Heavens Feel is the Sakura Route all from the Visual Novel ( im sure this adaption is also well done judging by the score) personally im waiting for 2020 to watch all 3 heavens feel movies at once on a cozy evening ;) so technically they are all alternate versions in the same time frame |
