I’d probably say ecchi as I love the lewds but still appreciate the story that can be told while taking a break from the lewds since with Hentai I feel like the lewdness isn’t the same as ecchi due to the fact that you don’t have this larger story that you’ve invested time in adding weight to their actions, though there is Hentai that has some decent stories conveyed but I mean it’s only real difference is that you get some penetration thrown in your face and I don’t necessarily think it deserves that win over ecchi based on that. |

| I don't know, I haven't properly watched hentai so far. I generally like if an anime has meat to its bones, and it's roumored that there are such hentai. Also, from what I seen, hentai generally has appalling animation quality and character designs while some ecchi is really pretty to look at and these are genres where the main appeal is the visuals. |

| I think that there is a place and time for both. But if ecchi has no story or other good aspect other than ecchi, then I would as well go for hentai since it goes all the way. On the other hand a good show can be improved with a good ecchi, which is where it's place is. Generally speaking I don't read hentai to enjoy the story (though there are exceptions). With ecchi, I expect it to be merely an addition rather than main aspect. With hentai I expect it be the main aspect. Although I have read some pretty good smut mangas before. |
