 An official website has opened and announced a new original TV anime by Studio Deen titled Kochouki: Wakaki Nobunaga (Gorgeous Butterfly: Young Nobunaga) slated for Summer 2019. The series is a historical drama aesthetically and boldly adapting the life of Oda Nobunaga in his teens up to his time as a warlord against his brother, Nobuyuki. Staff Director: Noriyuki Abe (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) Character Design: Atsuko Nakajima (Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season) Series Composition: Ryota Yamaguchi (Ao no Exorcist) Script: Megumi Sasano (Hakuoki), Kaoru Sawada (Itou Junji: Collection) Additionally, in the February 2019 issue of Animage magazine to be released on January 10, 2019, a novel prequel or spin-off adaptation of the series written by one of the anime's writers, Megumi Sasano, will be published. The series will also have a booth at the upcoming Comic Market 95 to distribute illustrative goods. | The series is a historical drama aesthetically and boldly adapting the life of Oda Nobunaga So while it will look historical, it wont be and it's gonna take a lot of liberties. This line and the picture make me think Nobonuga is gonna be a woman, maybe pretending to be a man. |

The whole "bold new take" and "gorgeous butterfly" do make it seem like they might be going for a gender flip though. (Not that I would personally consider that to be bold) |

| Woooah, that's the prettiest looking Nobunaga i have seen so far! Definitely going in my PTW, just hope that it's not an shounen-ai/yaoi. Also, i'm pretty sure Nobunaga is still a guy, when they genderbend historical figures into females, they have a specific target audience in mind and don't look like this, rather they would look much more moe and "cute-ish" to appeal to the common male otaku. He's just a long haired Bishounen, like these: |
