 An official website opened for a TV anime adaptation of Atsushi Ookubo's sci-fi action manga Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Force) on Wednesday. The series will be produced by animation studio David Production.Synopsis The city of Tokyo is plagued by a deadly phenomenon: spontaneous human combustion! Luckily, a special team is there to quench the inferno: The Fire Force! The fire soldiers at Special Fire Cathedral 8 are about to get a unique addition. Enter Shinra, a boy who possesses the power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous "devil's footprints" (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can Shinra and his colleagues discover the source of this strange epidemic before the city burns to ashes? (Source: Kodansha Comics) Ookubo launched Enen no Shouboutai in Weekly Shounen Magazine in September 2015, two years after ending the serialization of Soul Eater. Kodansha shipped the 14th volume on August 17. The 15th compiled volume will go on sale this Friday. Kodansha Comics licensed the manga in English in July 2016 and published the 12th volume on October 16. The 13th volumes is planned for a December 14 release. | Was wondering when this would get an adaptation when I saw some article for a fire fighter anime. I'm feeling pretty hyped for this, even though the manga is a little meh. Since it's David Production, not going to have to worry about graphic quality. Only concern is how well they will animate the action scenes, if they go past a 2-cour atleast. Either way, Enen no Shouboutai being animated is going to be "lit". |
