All the House seats were up but only 33 of the 100 senate seats were electable. Democrats did not take majority and actually lost three seats by total so far but took vast majority of the seats up for election and kept majority of their seats they held that were up for election only losing 4 but flipped one republican seat too. So that doesn't indicate current support of Trump the House results shows current views better.

You also have to keep in mind republicans use voter supression in multiple states in multiple forms so they have to cheat to win some states. These include to name a few voter ID, required address on ID, registered voter purging, and stripping right to vote for people with a past criminal record which may include non violent offences like marijuana possession. So it's not as bad as it seems.

There wont be another senate election untill 2022 and the remaining third wont finish there term till 2026. It takes 12 years to elect the full senate. If we were to assume a Democrat candidate were to win presidency in 2020 that means the first half of their term will be often blocked by the senate so no drastically new policy will be enacted. The US government may stagnate in status quo till 2022.

Voter ID should be required. Everyone has an ID, there should be an exception concerning Natives tho (imo). I read that they use P.O Boxes instead of street addresses. I think since citizenship for Natives is pretty strict, they should be allowed to vote regardless if they use P.O Boxes. ID's stops illegals from voting or any foreigners from messing with our elections. I honestly dont know how I feel about criminals not being allowed.

Also Democrats cheat by allowing the dead and illegals to vote. Again they go after Trump for collusion while they themselves collude with other countries to mess with our country. I was told that they allowed DACA members to vote. They arent citizens, they shouldnt have been allowed to vote.

It costs money to get a photo ID and hours waiting in the DMV and not everyone has that. I only got my first photo ID only about a year ago because I don't drive. Having a registered voter card is more than enough really unless they want to end charging people for getting a photo ID and somehow make the DMV efficient which it often isn't.

Yes, Native Americans that live on reservations use PO boxes but they aren't the only ones effected by a required mailing address on ID. It can effect people living in RVs and the homeless for example. Illegal immigrants and visiting foreigners voting has never been a significant issue. An illegal immigrant wouldn't risk being deported by doing that and foreigners aren't registered to vote they can't. It's never effected any election results because voter fraud is so rare and even so what I said before still holds true that a registered voter card is enough but even that may not be necessary.

Saying Democrats cheat in the way you describe you should be able to back that up to claim so. The only way they really cheat is gerrymandering but republicans do it too. If you don't know what that is it's redrawing districts in a partisan way that gives favour to a specific party. This isn't that hard to fix but no one has bothered for some reason beyond using a non partisan but this can't truely be done by a person like some places have done, an AI would have to do it.

One of the voter purging methods I mentioned is kicking off people for inconsistencies in accent marks on names between ID and registered voter info. This is done to target minorities because they are more likely to vote for Democrats.

I am unsure about no voting for violent offences but it should be easy to see non violent a problem. By stopping people from voting due to crimes they already served time for encourages the passing of laws that help further lock up people that by majority don't vote republican. Which effectively but indirectly outlaws dissent. That's why i mentioned marijuana since that was originally made illegal and the war on drugs was mainly to target minorities.

I took what you said the wrong way, I thought you wanted to get rid of voter ID altogether and just let anyone walk in (kinda just what it sounded like to me)... I honestly dont know how that will work either but if there can be an easier way to register and not have it cost money or waste time, then yeah, I'd be all for it.

My dad told me that murderers, rapists, ect cant vote but if anyone spent time for a small crime then they are allowed to vote. I think that might depend on the state tho (I also dont know if thats true or not tho)

I didnt mean to make it sound like I was defending Republicans, it just sounded like your comment was one sided so I just thought to counter it. Someone also commented on how both sides cheat and honestly, they are both fucked up. Not just republicans. I dont know if we can stop both parties from cheating.

I did read up on what voter purging is, I understand why it was implemented, but I can see how it can be used to cheat.

That's what CTRL- z is for. It brings back if you deleted stuff on accident even if it was by the button in the text box.

There is. Automatic registry. Tons of countries do it that way where anyone legible to vote can vote.

It's any felony not just those. Things like copyright violation and possession of a decent amount of drugs is also considered felony charges. How long their ability to vote is taken away duffers by state. Basically sending a digital copy of an anime show to a friend can land you a felony charge.

The US just has a bad voting system overall and a flawed legal system.

ohhh that'd be nice. That would make things so much easier. I think a lot of US policies may be out dated as well.
