Are you sure( I don't read the manga)
Manga is only like 15 chapters ahead and is on hiatus rn so for the manga to return and for the anime to adapt it sure as hell gonna take a loooong time

If they planned this as the final season, they should just come with original ending rather than adapting the timeskip entirely.

We don't know how much left there is of Gintama, but the manga is around 10 chapters ahead of the anime atm. The manga will publish monthly chapters as of December, but we don't know for how long. Assuming that the chapters will be longer, more condensed and better planned out, Sorachi could wrap this up quickly enough, meaning he could finish it by the end of 2019. If that is the case, we could get a last season in the beginning of 2020, with probably just enough content to adapt into one cour. But we shall see, I guess

it kinda will but it's no longer weekly, it'll start being in Jump GIGA, which only sees 4 releases per year

from what i heard the manga is going to giga beacuse the gorilla wasnt able to finish it by the time he stated (he gave them a notice that it will end in 6 months as he is required to and failed to deliver) so im assuming the giga wont be like new stories but just a wrap up and may even only puplish for once or twice there with long ass chapters
if we assume that the gorilla will end the manga in march then he will probably
have the manuscript ready earlier and they can start adapting it then
now the problem is whether or not they will beacuse i cant imagine a world where i can't see the ending of gintama

I hope it comes back and never ends!
Or make a last season that's really fucking bad so that I don't want any more, like Twin Peaks did.
After TP season 3 I definetly don't want any more, but the 25 year wait wasn't worth it.
