If by epic you mean loud and hype-worthy, there's Gintama, Bungou Stray Dogs..
If you mean just remarkable sweet music, there's Mushishi, Grisaia, Usagi Drop..

Did you just create a genre of music from out of the blue? Or do you mean orchestra music?

Does something like this count?

If so, Sound! Euphonium is about a concert band and they practice to play songs like that.

Some music genres don't apply to anime theme songs or op/ed but there are in fact a lot of series with a good soundtrack, if I think about it there's Bongou Stray Dogs, Naruto, Psycho Pass, Deadman Wonderland, Kiznaiver, Kuroko no Basket, Tales of Zestiria, Zero no Tsukaima, Fate (especially).. I could go on and on but most of these is just rock music, if you're looking for something that will give you chills then you have to search for specific songs that are played in animes. I'd recommend fantasy and mystery because that makes up for something that will put you into the mood before and mindst- watching.

It's better this way.

So I guess what you're looking for is something that has a mystic medieval vibe and lasts a long time. But part of that music are what fit for fight scenes and no anime would have a fight scene all throughout the episode.
That's hard.

Hm, idk if it'd be to your tastes, but I saw someone mention Re:Creators and that has pretty good soundtrack. The Kizumonogatari movies also have a really good soundtrack imo (plus the movies are really good).

The problem is, it seems you're looking for the type of epic music you'd find in Dark Souls and the like (at least by going off the video you linked) and I just haven't heard that type of music in many anime. I think its just different cultures. Most Japanese I think prefer a more electric sound then a heavy bass. I dont know if that makes sense, but I hope you get what I mean.

[EDIT] Oh, I forgot to mention that I also really enjoyed Gurren Lagann's insert music. It's more punkish (which I'm shocked I like since I dont enjoy punk) but it may be something for you to look into if you haven't seen GL.

Any show by Uki Kajiura [ https://myanimelist.net/people/5077/Yuki_Kajiura ] or Hiroyuki Sawano [ https://myanimelist.net/people/8509/Hiroyuki_Sawano ] is a good start for epic music.
Yuki uses more epic choirs, especially in Fate/Zero and SAO (if I'm not misaken) and Sawano is drops everywhere (Attack on Titan (especially in season 2 and season 3 where the songs become more instrumental than vocals) and Re:Creators).

-Popular answer1: FMAB ost list. (Just listen through it, there will be some "preparing to battle" style staff, and some not so epic but still great tracks. Shout out to: Main theme, Lapis Philosophorum, and Battle Scherzo. More on the artisticside: Trissa"s lullaby)
-Popular answer2 : Shingeki no Kyojin
-A more sophisticated answer : Hiroyuki Sawano (there are 1H long "MOST EPIC ANIME MUSIC" youtube vids, only from him)

-Hidden gem: Kakumeiki Valvrave ost (hard to find online legally or illegally)

My advice: brows youtube "best anime ost" vids, and if you allow a "epic" musicto be more on the melody side then Yuki Kajiura is your composer (#Beliving in justice / credens justitiam).

Watch every anime with Taku Iwasaki involved like Bungou Stray Dogs, Noragami, Soul Eater, Kekkai Sensen and more and you'll get your epic music. He basically mixes every single genre into his music like Jazz, Rock and maybe even some Metal, Rap, Dubstep or Electronic music in general and more.

I also recommend everything with Yoko Kanno like Cowboy Bebop, Darker Than Black, Ghost in The Shell and Zankyou no Terror.

Other noteworthy examples are anime like Fate/Zero, Death Parade, Shingeki no Bahamut, Kiznaiver and more.

If by epic you mean "heroic" or "war-inspired" music you have already watched one: Attack on Titan, since Sawano is on the score. I would also recommend some stuff made from Sawano for Kill la Kill and Kabaneri. Sounds like post-modern instrumentaton with strong electronic elements. He ocassionally mixes it with rock music:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5HBuZCc3us
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Ka0WFqftA

If you want something oldschool (and by oldschool I mean really oldschool) try Legend of the galactic heroes: it literally uses classical music. By classical music I mean not strictly classical (as a "broad definition"):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHn-EJtYwd8&list=PLviRCiujlzqCYuoMJzMtpbR3seP3r_duP

I find music from olschool battle shonen like Dragon ball, saint seiya and Hokuto no ken as "epic" in its own particular way (not all of them, but some), while mixing orchestration (brasses specially) with 70s and 80s elements from popular music including disco and japanese pop:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4dyPBJeTko

If you want something more "experimental" yet unique and totally distinguishable, Hirasawa stuff for Berserk 1997 is a great example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhx8yVvmM5k
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLiRMorUV2g

from ethereal and almost spiritual, too hell-ish and monstruos

Luck.

Loud dramatic bombastic orchestral/rock soundtrack-style music (and I don't mean bombastic in a bad way) is actually reasonably common in anime.

@ OP (@amfpi) the suggestion about Hiroyuki Sawano is probably useful. He's scored a number of series, such as Guilty Crown.

I'd also recommend some of the following:

* soundtracks by Masato Kouda (such as Arpeggio of Blue Steel; he's also worked on the Monster Hunter games)

* soundtracks by Shiro Sagisu (such as Evangelion and Black Bullet)

* soundtracks by Hikaru Nanase (such as Beyond the Boundary / Kyoukai no Kanata)

* soundtracks by Shikata Akiko (such as Cross Ange)

If you're looking in general for anime series that offer you this sort of soundtrack, look for ones that have serious, dramatic atmospheres, probably with some tinges of darkness, as well as lots of action.

I've always said we need a remastered version of the first-gen games -- or some sort of "ultimate Pokémon universe game" -- that used the TV show arrangements of the Kanto themes.

Well, in my opinion...

- FMA 2003, including the movie. "Bratja" made every fan I met cry.
- Sailor Moon S onwards got some cool tunes. Outer Senshi transformation theme kicks ass!
- No.6 got also songs that the characters sing across the series. Mostly Nezumi´s (Yoshimasa Hosoya) short folk songs. It´s cool.
- Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. If you like piano, it´s a feast for your ears. They also made versions of some songs with lyrics, featuring seiyuu from the series.
- Bungou Stray Dogs songs are pretty good in general, but the battle themes are always the best. Dead Apple´s soundtrack is awesome, including a jazzy song called "Dear Prince", with lyrics.
