| So FMAB is my favorite anime of all time and it has been number 1 on MAL for a long time the last time a Anime past it was Your Name and that didn't last. But I do not think any anime in the next 5-10 year will beat FMAB for the top spot on MAL. That is for one reason that's because how popular this anime is. Also I don't care about my grammar so yeah |

But many other Anime databases FMAB is 1-3 so I think its a very much America that loves FMAB. plus all my friends in IRL say there favorite Anime is either FMAB or Death Note but they don't watch much Anime. |

Well I have watched a lot more Anime Then I have on my MAL profile and FMAB is still my favorite anime I probably have seen 250-300 without the hentai on my MAL. lol but yeah |

| The only thing that recently got close was Steins;Gate 0. But that was because of the hype from the fans (including myself).. but it dropped relatively fast |

| A well funded One Piece or Berserk adaptation might definitely have a chance, though the prospect of either of those coming to fruition is...well... impossible :/ |

| I don't see anything topping 9.25/10 unless it's a GREAT Berserk adaptation (which will never happen) or a second season of Hunter x Hunter (which will never happen as well). Unless it's another BOOM movie like Your Name. |

| Steins;Gate and Hunter x Hunter can easily beat FMAB: Brotherhood IMO. if Hunter x Hunter Get a sequel maybe Hunter x Hunter will take the 1 spot. |

| FMA 2003 is better and the only reason people hate it is because their is an adaptation that follows the manga. Not apparently it's not worth watching anymore because of that. It's funny too before brotherhood, FMA 03 had the highest score on this website or at least top 3. After 2009, now it has an 8.2 which is sad but whatever options I guess. Damn I'm ranting now. |

| FMAB is the number one on this site, and other sites. It is a fantastic show overall with a complete ending, interesting plot and memorable characters. So, I don't think that any show will knock it of the Number 1 spot. |

| Not for now. You'll have to wait for another big TV adventure, who can rake large enough and has a chance to be multi-broadcasted throughout various countries. And who lacks as much as possible "japanese dumb tihngs". |

I guess you're right, people who don't watch a lot of anime tend to rate those shows higher, but do they even use sites like MAL? I didn't. I started using MAL when I had already seen around 800 episodes. yeah some probably don't use MAL but their are a lot of Closet Anime watchers in America |

| The ratings on MAL are unreliable anyway, one of the most iconic animé hangs in the 7's. The best series are usually in the mid 7's to early 8's |

| MAL is a bit reliable on the scores, but not that much. Gintama is the perfect example that it's more about the fandom. If I had to nitpick, then even FMAB is a example that MAL isn't that much trustful (as much as it's a great show, it has a lot of mistakes that can't be ignored, and I would never consider my favorite show of all time) |

| I have a feeling that Mob Phycho 100 could have come close if it was made as a full adaptation too. And I doubt FMAB would have reached the top if it was split into seasons, the fact it's not only a good story but the story with an end and a satisfying one, plays a huge role too. Kimi no nawa, Steins gate are also like that (you can ignore sg0), there are a lot of sequels in the top list but it would actually feel weird to have a certain part of anime at the first spot. I understand that sequels are watched by those who are already a fan of the show but still, the common question of anyone looking at such top would be why this particular part and not the other? So I doubt anything will take over it with the trend of splitting anime into seasons and cours. It's not a bad thing from viewing and production perspective at all but it does affect how the scores are distributed over the whole story. Also FMAB had 10 years to form its fanbase and the amount of people who watched it matters too. |

| I think the only anime that would beat FMAB is HunterxHunter if it had a proper end. But right now I don't think there is any manga/LN/game adaptation that I know that could beat FMAB and it depends of the studio too. And FMAB has a big fanbase and it is very famous for even people that don't watch so much anime. |
