| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Damn...Steins;Gate. Seeing this felt nostalgic especially with Mayuri and the narratives in the beginning. The episode had a moody feel from the beginning but still felt like the previous series. Seeing Okabe dressed in a suit is a nice touch (I still prefer his signature lab coat though). The animation style still feels very familiar to the franchise. Well done so far White Fox. Seems this episode/timeline takes place around the holiday season. It's really nice to see others like Ruka and Faris too. Really glad to also see some humor added in for the episode. It kinda felt like the episode is a setup for rest of the season but this really can get a viewer back into the mood. Daru's personality is still the same as usual lol The psychology is nicely done as expected and I'm glad they captured Okabe's personality and inner instincts pretty well. |

| So this starts kinda different from the VN which took straight into the plot introduction, while this focuses more on the cast first. Still really GREATTT overall.. glad to see everyone animated. :D The OST hits hard as always. That beginning was really needed for better setting up some things later and added lots of new material that improves the characterization. so happy to see best ADULT WOMAN (everyone's new waifu and best girl 2018) and best adult boiII "holy cow" Already better than the VN bois. I loved the Kurisu flashback, I am shocked at how amazing it is. They used the VN op for this episode and no visuals. |

| Not a bad start. I'm still worried about how they are going to adapt the non-linear content from other routes though. With S;G was much easier since the routes were pretty much all chronologically connected. This isn't the case at all with 0, and there's quite a bit of important information to be taken from each. |

| I really liked how they started the anime differently than the VN. Instead of jumping to Okabe at the ATF convention, we get a bit of the future first. Plus having the old characters show up much early into the story worked for the better. It pads out the episode, letting the first episode end at a better spot. And starting off really plot-heavy might not work in its anime format. The Okabe PTSD was super well done (and that distorted music too). I love how they're adding some extra stuff. Lol at Suzuha trying to hook up Daru with his mom XD And we get introduced to Hiyajo! Looks like a little girl, yet is a 21-year old neuroscientist… I guess that makes here a legal loli. She’s just gonna participate as a translator here. Ooh, Moeka’s here too, which automatically got Okabe all tensed up. But we’re in the timeline where Moeka’s not batshit crazy, so it’s okay :P They cut out what Okabe currently knows about Kurisu's father and what happened to him. Maybe they'll bring that up later on. Leskinen and Hiyajo present what they’ve been working on at Victor Chondria University. Kurisu, who is also part of the same team, had her essay used to help create “Amadeus”, which takes memories as data and stores them in an AI. The D-mail from the original series was sort of similar, except the memories, converted into data, is sent to the past rather than stored in an AI. Since they’re based off of the same essay by Kurisu, they share noticeable similarities. I thought they'll end the episode when but this episode ended off on a tense note. And that VN OP at the end works perfectly!!! Close-ups aside, the cinematography is quite good. Production values are solid, and the use of the VN's OST was great. All in all, perfect first episode!  |

| I was afraid they were going to go easy on the PTSD but they actually went way more hardcore than the VN ever did, I am very happy with how this episode turned out. 10/10 |

It's all the same in his head like with Mayuri, that is the reason why he doesn't even want to try again with Suzuha. He has already submitted to his choice and anything further will result in the same unstoppable fate he had seen with Mayuri hundreds of times while blaming himself for her death. |

| Ayye finally some more Steins;Gate. First episode looked really good, I was not really hyped for this even though SG is one of my favorite animes of all time, but the episode made me pretty excited about it again. |

| Amazing and interesting first episode. This episode definitely felt like I just watched Steins;Gate yesterday (which I did not) and I'm very excited to see what the future holds for us with this show. |

| A pretty good start. Certainly got me a nostalgic a fair bit, but I'll reserve my hype for now as from what I've heard the story is very divisive in terms of opinions. Should be an enjoyable ride regardless |

| Started lightly just as expected, but then the Kurisu trauma part was spectacularly horrifying, hope is restored a little. The conference in the VN was more interesting though but i guess it's boring to most people. Anyway very promising. |

And to me it feels like a normal SG episode since I marathoned the entire SG franchise yesterday and the day before. Overall good start tho. |
| Oh man it's nice to see all these characters again. Things have already gotten interesting based on the end of the episode. This was a great first episode and I'm definitely excited to see what's in store down the road. Also, I forgot how much I missed hearing Mayuri say Tuturu lol. |

| I wonder how they're gonna handle the endings? Considering they branch out drastically compared to the original S;G VN. I'm gonna guess it's gonna go for the Promised Rinascimento end before going the Vega & Altair end? That'd make the most sense. Also Hiyajo's CGs were adorable. Can't wait to see her moments animated :D |
