It was really disappointing to watch Episode 09 while you have really waited for 2 weeks to see if there was any changes, I was shouting inside our house, late at night, because Did the really changed the quality?, I BET NOT, THEY JUST MADE IT WORST. I can't really calm down while watching it. I was hoping for a big change and they gave me a Potato Quality Episode 09. I wish that in the further episodes they would change or revert it back to normal, Because I really liked the Quality of the first Eight (08) Episodes of Märchen Mädchen. I wish for improvements, even though they couldn't see this post. (CRYING ON THE INSIDE) for what was the two (02) weeks of delay if they just showed us something that has a Potato Quality. I think they just assumed there was a problem and fixed it. But there was no problem in the first place, I was willing to finish the Series, even though many of the viewers Dropped , Märchen Mädchen. |

The plot was great and I'm glad Fairy Tale Girls is back. Hazuki sure has developed since the first episode. Normally, she ran away from confrontation or any difficult challenge but here she's taking more of an initiative here. I'm proud of her. I'm very happy that everyone get to be together and just have a fun time. Its also nice to see that the American Team won't cross lines such as cheating as their other teammate was doing. That Chinese girl was hot with that pole. |

So only the Daves sisters are cheaters in the american school. The other 3 members are good people who want to play fair. Shizuka notice that Hazuki has sandwiches.. how cute. :) And funny how the elders in Shizuka's house react that the jap school won the first round. Pride of the family restored while he's still alive. XD Sadly, the number of animation errors in this episode remind me how little budget this anime has. |

This is just sad. Like what is going on with the studio? Rushed animations, irregular schedules and the creators won't even acknowledge their effort. If they keep this up, at this rate they'll have to cancel the show. At the very least, they should get shit their together. I might drop this if the quality continue to drop in the next episode. EDITED: Just found out the creator (original author) of Märchen Mädchen is deceased. This is so, so heartbreaking. |

I really like this show, never had any issues with the quality of the animation. But blimey what happened in those two weeks. This is even worse then before. How did they make it bad, I’m really struggling to watch this episode. But I will continue the serie cause I don’t drop stuff but this almost makes me want to break that rule. Really hope the animation improves because the story seems kinda fun. |

WAAAAIIIIT WAIT WAIT A SECOND... This episode was delayed so they could improve the animation quality... You telling me... This is an improvement? IT WAS DELAYED FOR THIS? The hell did they have before this? Was it always this bad and I just didn't notice it? I Don't think I've been paying much attention to the quality of the animation but now that its on my mind it just looks... well, pretty garbage. HELL EVEN THE STILL SHOTS LOOK PRETTY ASS. How did this happen? Did I watch the original episode before they fixed the animation? Anyway, only thing I can think of to do is take pictures... So I'ma do that. |

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my fucking god my fucking sides hurt from laughing so fucking hard. We had a 2 week hiatus for quality issues, and THIS is what the "improved" version is supposed to be? Hahahahahahaha oh my lord. I didnt notice it at first, but the second the train scene started I'm just sitting here like "yo, why the fuck do all of their faces look retarded? Am I imagining things? Did the show always look this shitty? I'm pretty sure it didnt". Low and behold I was right, since this episode spiraled down like a wet messy shit down a flushing toilet. Looks like I dont have to post any screen shots since it seems like a bunch of people already took the liberty of posting every scene I was laughing at. The train, those absolute shit faces during the training, sensei's massive fucking DK cheat code head, the new girls who's retard personality matched her physical appearance (and frankly signaled a turning point in how shitty the story got for literally no reason. She legitimately feels like a made up character the studio inserted because they're all to incompetent to adapt an already incomplete story). My favorite highlight that no one seems to point out though, is during the pillow fight scene (which also had shitty drawings) at the very end Maria Rasputin's character says something, but it's Tatiana's seiyuu who accidentally says the line. It was also funny watching the opening training scene where they're all stretching move at 2 frames per second. This quality was so fucking bad I thought I was watching the Bob Team Epic skits from Pop Team Epic. Notice how in the preview for next weeks episode though everything looked perfectly fine? I'm suuuuuure they didnt totally intentionally only pick out the best of the best frames to use or anything. gcnaruto said: I still can't believe the deformation on the sensei :'( I still cant believe the deformation of literally every fucking character. |

Oh fuck I missed that one. I caught the one during the pillow fight, but yea you're right. I went backed and watched and listened again. That was Qazan's seiyuu saying that line when it was supposed to be the other chick. Pretty fucking sad that not only is the art probably the shittiest I've ever seen in a fucked up show, but they literally couldnt even get the voice acting right...more than once in the same episode. It's honestly the first time I've ever witnessed it, and yet I witnessed it twice in one episode. I can probably bet it wasnt even the seiyuus faults either. If youve ever seen them record their lines, they do it with incomplete animation and frames. So if they final product is this bad, I can only imagine what the rough cut the sieyuus use for recording looked like. It was probably so bad they didnt know which character was which. |

Here's the thing, Isuca was bad because the manga itself was terrible, and the studio decided to do an anime original thing and completely change the story, molding garbage into hot garbage. The show was meant for nothing more than fanservice. That being said, you cant even compare them in terms of how bad they are, because they were bad for different reasons. Isuca was bad story and content wise...quality wise? It didnt look even 1/100th as bad as this show. Arms may have completely fucked Isuca, but at least they knew it was supposed to be nothing but trashy fanservice and made fucking damn sure their characters never looked like a lost archives 1987 anime drawn by a chimpanzee. |

There's not much I could really add to this. After the delay, it is a shame that the visual quality is still kind of pants (time to dig out the Quality Van memes from yesteryear?), and it's also frustrating that this episode had one of the most ridiculous contrivances yet ("give up your Origin right now because we don't know you won't tamper it, though somehow wouldn't have done it in the years up to now, despite the very accusation being that it's a family cover-up"). I'll be sticking with this, but I really hope the BDs get some serious touch-up. |

Well, this is the first time I come to write about an episode for this anime (mostly because I created this account the past week), since I watched Imouto Sae Ireba Ii I found out that sometimes it's not the creator's fault for an anime to be bad, horrible, terrible, totally crap, etc. And i'm pretty sure that's the case with this anime but I'll write further about that on my full review for this anime when it ends. Now with this episode, I'll talk about 3 thing which are the obvious animation drop, the fucked up scenes between characters and VA, and the new character. About the animation most of the people here said the obvious and mostly what I was goin to say about those scenes, I obviosly complained while watching the episode, a 2 weeks break to improve animation and we got THAT? But then I saw the preview and it looked pretty decent, even better than most of the animation for the anime overall, made me think about something; what if they started working on the episode 10 and 11 during the break and then they worked on the 9 but had to rush it because they had no time to end it? That would be the only way for me to explain that, for me that would make a lot of sense because you want a good animation for the action scenes rather than a filler event such as too little training and more of a sleepover, but I don't really know if that's the case. Now with the switched voices, I blame the director on this one, I've seen some videos where the VA record scenes for the animes they're working on and an error like that could actually happen one time... But TWICE? And even when it's a one time thing it's the director's job to avoid these kind of things so for me the director is the one who's guilty for this one. Well, this new girl was hospitalized on (apparently) a human hospital, you know from the normal world, and then she scapes and rushes to meet the principal and her partners saying that their "saviour" showed up; first of all, and if i recall correctly, Hazuki was a kind of weirdo because she was from the normal world and for that reason the girls at the magic school kinda avoided her, so what about this girl? Ok, she might be the reason why the girls at school act like that but it's not likely, they should've been kinda used to the new girl as a foreigner and that way it would've been easier to accept Hazuki and not avoid her; for that reason it's pretty obvious for me she's a made up character for this anime adaptation, that would make sense but then again I'm not completely sure because i haven't read the LN to confirm it. UImoetard said: I don't know how to make gif, but this animation sequence right here is ridiculous. I thought I accidentally made the video 0.5x speed. I seriously thought that it was my phone fucking with me at this scene because it's been so laggy since 8 months ago XD |

didn't watch, but I got curious about how screwed this anime was and looked for some details: reddit said: --So uh i managed to get a talk with someone related to the animation industry in japan who has some animator contacts to the animation studio. What I get is to cut it short and some few details today’s episode is the reason why they took a 2 week break... But since episode 9 is already completed and reworking over it will consume too much time that is meant to be alloted to push up the quality of last batch of episodes they decided to air it (which is what we see today). Another is due to the fact that the studio have another anime to work on (3d kanojo) that will air as part of spring line up most of the regular staffs that are working with maedchen were shifted to work on the said new anime. With fewer staffs in maedchen they outsourced the majority of episode 9 cuts to smaller studios hence the discrepancies and noticeable inconsistent animation. With time and manpower not on their side, the original staff rushed the work and left the rest of the cuts to smaller studios so they can jump to work on the next episode immediately and is now doing OTs everyday to boost the quality since they have fewer staffs (hence that kvin’s tweet). --- Basically, what you see in episode 9 is the result of leaving almost all of the scene cuts to different smaller studios and this also explains why the preview of the next episode is noticeably better than todays episode another post regarding the situation: https://blog.sakugabooru.com/2018/03/24/marchen-madchen-a-production-postmortem/ this anime has some serious production issues since the beginning apparently(I guess it shows from the OP). |

I've been thinking of dropping this show since around Ep 4 but I've hung in there. Now there's NO WAY I'm dropping it. The animation was so bad in that episode that I couldn't stop laughing. I wasn't expecting that I would laugh harder than at any time this season, for any show, but I did. Now I don't care about the plot anymore, hell I'm watching just to see how much worse the animation can get, if that's even possible. This thing has now gone from a borderline acceptable show to a Hall of Fame piece of crap. I'm usually a generous person, but seriously how can you NOT give 1/5 for that episode? |

I was pretty saddened. I was actually okay with this series and liked everything up until this episode. I wanted to rate it an 8 just out of personal enjoyment, but episode 9 and then reading the article about the production issues has me feeling depressed. I'm going to drop this, not because I think it's a bad anime, I just don't want to remember it for it's low quality when the last few episodes air. I hope in the future it might get picked up again maybe by a different group to give this series the care it needs, but that's probably not in the realm of the likely to happen. I'll probably pick up the manga when I have the time. |

Holy shit. What happened?! The quality took a tremendous nosedive! Like I was sitting there watching the episode and actually thought to myself that with the little time I spent studying animation formally, I'd be able to create an animation with the same quality of this episode like no sweat if I actually had the time for it. The problem for me isn't the actual animation, but the consistency (if that makes sense). Like, yo, at least go for the same animation and such from episode one to whatever episode you're ending on.;; You can have stick figures for all I care, just keep it consistent. And they didn't. In some scenes, it looked like the faces were dripping. As for the plot, hoooweee. They sure picked a bad episode for this stuff to be going down. Yet at the same time, I guess it's a good thing that MOST of this episode was kinda blah plot-wise anyway until near the end, because straight up, they weren't even letting the characters emote properly for the most part. Someone was yelling in a frustrated way at some point and they were like smiling. Like you need to be able to grasp the emotions of the characters if you want to connect with them, so this was definitely a bad episode for actually wanting to like the characters even more if you wanted to. A shame because these teams getting together to train would have been a really good opportunity for anyone to change their mind about someone if it wasn't already too late. Then you have this poor side character getting her debut this episode and lordy I feel so bad for her. First off, they planned to introduce YET ANOTHER character when they were only supposed to have three episodes left. That is already a bad move. Now they have one. Now it's a really bad move. This poor, poor character. This gives people pretty much no time to connect with her. I already thought it was bad that they introduced so many characters and just kinda made them lose so quick that they were out of the picture. You didn't even get a chance to know them-- even if they're in the opening and ending-- even the dang key visuals! So bad... and they have the nerve to introduce Wonky over here? Nah. It's just a bad move. I do feel really bad for those who liked this show as opposed to those who disliked, were neutral, or undecided about it. This was an incredibly improper way to treat a series. And from what I read, it's been hard on the staff too. I do feel bad for them too. I did think the premise of pretty much creating a persona of sorts based on tales was a cute little concept. I usually love that type of thing! But they went a really eh way with it. Going the battle each other route is often not as fun as many think. I think many prefer characters to work together because that's honestly a much more fulfilling endeavor when characters can genuinely create a bond that actually works, but not just for functionality. It's true that it's harder to write, but the pay off really is better. I mean really, I don't care about the fighting at all and I appreciated the parts where these girls came together way more. I would have appreciated THIS episode if we were actually given access to the emotions of the characters (which is an essential part of bonding characters genuinely). Though even with this episode, it wouldn't have been enough of a genuine bond and at this point probably would have been fanservice more or less. "Oh, we heard Japanese do pillow fights". Yeah yeah, get out of here with that. If their motive was to bond I would have believed it, but that wasn't their motive at all. So probs just fanservice if we could have actually witnessed it more. But yeah anyway I thought that's what this show was missing, but in order to even improve upon that aspect, they would have had to go a whole other direction most likely. Welp, I guess one more episode. I'm watching on Crunchyroll, so I'll see the end on the 5th of April I guess. |
