| Literally who? Yeah if you can go ahead and get all of my animu on streaming services then that's how I'll watch it. But I remember watching an anime dub when I was younger. It aired on TV so it was 100% legit. I really liked it, but they cancelled the dub half way through. Later on I "borrowed" the full subbed series online. Subbed version had like 50% more episodes but still never caught up with the manga. So I've been buying the manga, but the last 3 out of 33 volumes aren't even available in English. You just really can't always win when it comes to overseas releases, especially when you don't know Japanese. Am I supposed to learn Japanese and then import the DVD version at exorbitant prices? Oh, yeah, that's illegal, too. They put region restrictions on DVD players so you can't do that. I don't know who Caitlin Grass is, but I don't think she's ever watched anime. If she has, she's never watched anything that isn't super mainstream. If she did then she would realize how difficult it actually is to actually see a series through to completion even when it was licensed in your country to begin with. Even when you're trying your best to pay for the content, you're screwed over by those last three seasons or volumes that they never bothered to localize. |

Also Viz forces you to sit through ads (a 2 minute ad before the video and another 30 second ad in between) or disables the video until you disable your adblock. | If I were to follow this and only watch the anime licensed in my country, I wouldn't really be able to watch anything else than Ghibli movies. Crunchyroll is available, but that's the only legal streaming service that offers many anime, that I can get where I live. Too bad that Crunchyroll doesn't have the majority of anime I want to watch. I will continue to watch anime however I want until the legal sites offer a better solution than they currently do. |

| She can say whatever she wants about pirating anime I don't care. I watch using kissanime or 9anime. I went out and bought the Discs to anime I want to add to my RL collection after watching them. I've used Netflix, Hulu and Crunchyroll and buy manga and merchandise. So again she can say what she wants to, but even though I use sites like 9anime I still fund the industry when I can. I could spend more on anime if the US economy would fix itself, but I doubt ill ever see that in the next 10 years. |
