New OVA and Third Season of 'Starmyu' Announced

The Starmyu Fes 2017 held on Sunday has announced that the series will receive a new OVA to be released in October 2018, and a third season slated for 2019. The new OVA will be about Hoshitani and others during Halloween and a new PV for the song "Storytellers," which was performed by Riku Ageha (Nobunaga Shimazaki), Sou Hachiya (Kengo Takanashi), Ren Kitahara (Yuuichirou Umehara) and Kouki Nanjou (Shunsuke Takeuchi), will be included as a bonus. The third season will continue the story from second season, and will introduce new Kaou-kai.

Starmyu is an original musical anime series by C-Station that began airing in Fall 2015. Two OVA episodes were released in July and September 2016. The second season of the anime recently aired for 12 episodes in Spring 2017.

On the way back from Starmyu Fes where they announced this and I'm so damn excited amd happy. The moment they announced the third season the hall was on fire and I screamed amd cried haha. The third season is gonna show the new Kaoukai and I hope it's Team Otori! Can't wait for 2019.

But anyway I'm happy more Starmyu! >w< And if it say the song of the OAV will be performed by all member of team Yuzuriha so that mean the other two will be voiced. I hope we can see team Akatsuki or maybe news characters ^^ I'm already hyped even if we must wait for a year x)

Please don't add any more boys, season 2 already had too many to name! Instead focus more on the groups already introduced. Anyway I'm happy they keep making more Starmyu, too many music anime only get one season and then are never heard of again.

actually wrong info in the main post. The song is Storytellers by the two members from team Yuzuriha and the two from team Sazanami which has already been released on one of the CDs from season 2. it's just getting a PV for the OVA which is great because it's one of the best songs from S2 imo

I am ready for more Starmyu! Sad that we'll have to wait a year and 3 months at the earliest for another season, can't wait to see what they'll have in store.
But at least we'll have an OVA next year, wonder if the whole cast will appear.

Aren't they still in the middle of their second year at the end of the second season or am I remembering incorrectly, do you think they'd skip to being third years straight away?

Usually with student councils, the tenure is one year from the second half of second year to first half of third year. This is so the third years will have time to do handover to the next gen and prepare for exams.

I was wondering the same. I remember former Kaoukai electing the new Kaoukai as their last job when Hoshitani and the boys were still first years before S2. I'm not sure but can't new Kaoukai be new characters?

If Hoshitani them were to be the new Kaoukai..i think it'd actually be Hoshitani, Tatsumi and Tsukigami for sure and the last two will be between Ugawa, Nayuki, Sawatari, Toraishi and Inumine. I can't say for sure that Tengenji will be a kaoukai because he might take over his parent's kabuki while Kuga will probably be to busy for work but this is only my opinion lol.

I get it, good sales, but why!? I get it if the show is enjoyable, but what does Japan see in it?? What can they even do more with the story and it's character??

Help the industry and buy Blu-rays and DVD's.
Noragami is the best anime ever.

It is enjoyable and very entertaining so it deserves S3. It's obvious the story ain't finished yet? what season 2 wrapped up was the connection to ootori senpai, now that they are in the musical department, we need to see the development for the character's motivations.

The musical stage plays are successful, also many songs are not yet released and some songs that were released are not used in anime yet so far. I think by now, it's already a franchise. It can't go off track because it's not too limited to idol activities but can expand to acting in musicals and plays as plot points.

Kuga said that he plans to stop working part time once he gets in the musical deparment. I'm not sure if the Kao Kai can be mixed from other groups, so far they only showed a group as Kao Kai. Granted, as much as I love Team Ootori, I can't say I want them to be the new Kao Kai. I mean though I personally believe overall, they are better than team hiiragi, I want to see more outside activities now like Tsukigami's and Kuga's dream plays, Tengeni's kabuki perf etc and Kao kai will just not suit Stardust.
