| Does it really need a remake in the first place though? Animation isn't important for a plot driven series such as LOTGH. I mean, I could understand a release where they cut scenes/episodes to shorten the series, but an entire reboot just seems like a cash grab. Will this cover the entire events from the original animated series? I know alot of people find the pacing slow, but there are alot of moments in the 110 episodes that make the series what it is, I fear that by condensing it to 24 episodes many plot lines/scenes will be ignored. I'm not expecting much. |

It's more likely that someone will get to know the show through a reboot than to watch a 1988 show. And if the series' quality is as good and praise-worthy as some of the triggered elitists claim, then it might be good to make it more popular |

| It seems the LoTGH community will be in full meltdown mode sooner than I expected. It just needed to change the character pictures. We have several rounds of triggering coming up (only considering episode 1): Annerose, Mittermeyer, Ruhental, Rubinsky... they will probably show them in the next PV. |
| Well it's a modern remake of a classic anime, chances are it's gonna be shit. It might be smarter to wait until episode one comes out before hating it though. |

Even if you say they "are as gay", it doesn't change the fact that these character designs are more unfitting for a show like this. LOTGH is supposed to be a slow and realistic space and military drama, and these designs make it feel as though it is just like another anime that you see pop up every season. I mean, take a look at the original character design for Yang Wen-Li and look at this new revisioning. Yang is supposed to be a 31 year old man who practices in some strange behaviors and doesn't like to live a clean life style, but this character design doesn't capture that image whatsoever. That doesn't mean I think the character designs have to be exactly the same as the original adaptation, but they should be serviceable to the characters themselves and so far it doesn't appear as though they are. That being said, I suppose we will just have to wait and see. |
