I'm happy about this. First season has me entertained and they can make this work as I think there's plenty of materials left to adapt. |

That key visual looks awful. Her design was the only good part of season 1. |

as long it's not as boredom as first season, that should be great... 30 minutes is too much... i would love if it short... love the original source, but anime? not soo much... |

Yay! More Dagashi Kashi <3 I just wish that Kodansha will license the manga and everything will be perfect. I can't wait for Hajime Owari's (the one on the right) seiyuu~ |

It's understandable why they made the change of the director since the guy is working for Kekkai Sensen S2. But I'm kinda skeptical for the director selection since he's the same dude that made the trainwreck also known as Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal (and that entry killed my interest in the franchise overall). Don't really get the change for the studio and I don't get the change of the other two but alright then I suppose. Man. I think as long as the show is at least still entertaining for what it was showing I'm good then. |

There are some miracles going on as this is another anime that didn't sell too well and still getting a S2. |

I have mixed opinions on the new character designs. One one hand, they look more laid-back, which fits the show. On the other hand, they don't look as sexy, which doesn't fit the show. |

If that visual is anything to go by, I'm going to end up extremely fucking disappointed. I know the show got a lot of flak from MAL viewers for being boring and whatnot. But I can appreciate that Doga Kobo was able to adapt the individual chapters very accurately, and on top of it add a lot of character development and interactions not present in the manga in order to stretch out the episodes and make them standard length. Especially considering the chapters are like 8 pages. The other thing I appreciate even more, is that the character designs were a damn near clone of the manga. Every single character looked exactly how the author depicted them. And that was especially true for Hotaru: big boobs, light purple hair, and light blue eyes with lots of crazy circles in them. That's how she was drawn, and those were the colors she was given whenever the manga had a colored illustration. Then you look at this fucking visual Darker blue-ish/violet hair, almost indigo looking, and even darker indigo generic, non-crazy dead eyes. That alone almost kills it for me. If that's how they're drawing the poster character of the series who's the craziest and most expressive...I cant imagine how they're going to draw everyone else. Fucking why not give Kokonatsu light brown hair and Saya red hair at this point? I'm even amazed the author even gave his seal of approval on the character designs after they look so drastically different from Doga Kobos. Then throw in a studio who's key golden age peaked in the 80's and 90's and hasn't done a single show I give a shit about, along with a director who's barely directed anything, and what he has directed was shit...and this is basically set up as a recipe for disaster. And as for people questioning why it's getting a second season. 1. The BD sales were at least ok. Nothing crazy, and if it were the only criteria it probably wouldn't get a second season. 2. It gave the manga a massive sales boost. Like...a lot. 3. The show (and the boosted manga) were actually well received and popular, which led to the series doing a lot of promos and collaborations with actual Dagashi. So it got loads of attention and marketing, which I'm sure also raked in money for both the committee and the Dagashi makers. |

That's a surprise. I thought anime sales flopped hard. Manga sales must be killer since they're making a new season. The character designs look really bland though, Hotaru looked great in the first season, probably the only redeeming factor of the first season. |
