| I don't think there are much IRL guys that would just turn away or run as a cute girl sits on his lap. That being said, when i watch harem stuff i tend to ignore the MC and focus on girls' interactions. I don't like crybabies, (girls should fill that role if needed) and i don't like most mc's questionable decisions (and all that talk you see on most harem topics) so it's easy for me to just ignore them untill they become better characters or just pop up with some random super power to save the day (just so i can ignore them again right after). |

That's why you see a lot of highschool anime. I guess you see a lot of the same themes in the anime industry because Japanese guys just want to escape their shit life. | I guess thats the reason I liked some weird harem like Grisaia,Kore wa zombie,High school DxD. Male MC with straight foward feelings tend to be better than shy crap,weak/pussy and unfunny mc. Not exactly harem but Touma on the other hand isnt a pussy either and i am not sure why did they promote the light novel with semi harem/ecchi fanservice in the anime. | The target audience of these anime are males who have a hard time with women, who get anxious easily near them. It's a wish-fulfillment for these guys, taking their difficulties and putting them in a setting where they have to confront them in a safe setting. Girls are still scary, but at least they want you. |

There would be fierce emotions. The end could be break-through. For example, the MC actually picks and marries one.
