| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- So a homunculus awakens this episode. Nice. Introducing more characters into this series. I like how Astolfo found the guy and is like "sure, I'll help you". Interesting to see a little bit of action this episode and even Rider of Black Karna showing up! We got Karna confronting Siegfried as well. I also like how the episode focused more on Siegfried. Frankenstein is still amusing to watch in this show lol  |

There is only so many cuts you can let one of your star animator handle before he has to move on to the next one. So in that regard I prefer consistent quality in a short fight over a drop in quality in a stale but authentic long one. Not that I don't feel you on that one but it just can't be helped. |
| Scrubbing through this episode, and sighing as it seems Jack doesn't appear at all in this episode. So we got nothing for Episode 1, 3 seconds in Episode 2, and Nothing in Episode 3. What a bummer. More boring homunculous stuff, something about the trap dude standing over a one of them, some stuff with Jeane fighting Sigefried and a scene with Mordred talking with Blitz Talker. Exciting. |
| So Ruler's name is pronounced John Dark? And I'm very surprised to see Siegfried and Karna naming themselves in front of each other, fuck the one who changed the script and says that's okay with the rules of the war. | More creepy Astolfo fanservice(bc the previous scene was not long enough apparently). Karna(AKA DiscountGoldie) versus Siegfried(AKA DiscountAchaaa) fight was actually yet again, one of best parts of episode. See ufo? Characters can actually THINK! And HAVE THOUGHTS! WHILE FIGHTING! Imagine THAT! Now it remains to be seen in A1 remembers characters have thoughts in longer fights too or if they will go all ufo and leave people guessing why things are happening. Also servant flashbacks? Yass. Again, if this was Ufo we would get some characters walking past some random shitty dimly lit mural instead of actually seeing the past. THE BEST part however was Moedred's screentime, yet again. Go-Lion-kun and Moedred should have been the protagonists. Either way the MC-kun is here! I guess at least people hateboner towards Shirou will decrease now that fate with an actual LnProtag-kun is airing. The downfall of Apo story can begin now. 7/10 |

| MC-kun finally comes into focus and his circumstances seem interesting and he could raise a few intriguing identity issues. It's fairly early at this point in the story, but i can see myself draw a few parallels between him and Hakuno at the very start of Extra, we'll see. Watching Karna fight was absolute bliss. I just hope they tone it down with the sound effects a bit. How stupid is Siegfried's Master? "Please, Ruler, join me in this fight you're not supposed to join when i so conveniently waited until this moment to interfere." But yeah, I've read the manga to the latest chapter, so i know that this is low on the scale of how stupid he'll get later. Sumanai, you poor bastard. That reminds me, WHY THE FUCK DID SIEGFRIED JUST NAME HIMSELF!!!?? I mean, you didn't even tell it to your allies. Who wrote this script? Astolfo is fun to watch, but how much more fun it'd be IF HE WAS JUST A GIRL, GODDAMMIT. Shirou seems like the most friendly person ever. Look at him take care of those walking death flags of characters and maybe even relief them of their misery very soon. So considerate. Then we shift focus to FRAN AND HOW ADORABLE SHE IS AND CUTE AND LOVABLE AND-..... Ahem. Moving on. Overall, a very good episode and the action is the best it have looked in this show so far. 8/10. Also, RIP the first victim of this cruel war. |

| I have to say, if there's only one thing good about that anime, it's the seiyuu cast. Having the like of Miyuki Sawashiro, Maaya Sakamoto and Suwabe Jun'ichi as part of the main cast really help. + There's at least Nakahara Mai and Hayami Saori among characters that we haven't really heard yet. Even if everything else ends up mediocre, that part should at least delivers until the end (except if all the good cast goes out of focus or die too soon, obviously). |

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but at the start of the episode Astolfo is carrying the homunculus when two soldiers or whatever asked him about someone escaping, it felt weird to me that they didn't even ask about who that person he was carrying was. Pretty enjoyable now that I'm finally starting to remember everyone, 4/5 episode. |

To be honest I prefer ufo style... leaving hints but not showing directly, and leaving space for the imagination of the viewer -besides, most servants in fate are well known historical figures, so you can get easily a lot of the context and interpret it (all the "memories" scenes in Zero and UBW were really smart managed... but this flashback... didnt convince me. Still loving this show (despite the Nascar pace) and Red Saber team... Already hating MC-Homuncu-chan |

So far A1 actually bothered adapting servant flashbacks(unlike ufo), did not cut the flashbacks into 201228728 scenes that interrupt the ongoing events(unlike ufo) and actually allowed the audience to know the character thoughts(unlike ufo). That's a major improvement, even if source material is worse. |

What you learn in VN is not his history, but story of his failure because he essentially embodies that - failure. Archer is a nameless hero - narrative should not tell a defined past or defined path for him , just a sense of it's outcomes. Having exact story of what happens defeats the point of that as does spending so much time in one place upon it - having bits and peaces of metaphors about it during the dreams through the show would have bee enough - Especially since FZ already exists and that gives a decent example of "journey of ideals failing you". What we SHOULD have gotten was and that would be enough, because Archer is not a "character' - he is a "conflict". His story s not about what happened to him. ITs about that he failed. |

| A decent amount of background in this episode. Nice that they're trying to humanize each side. Taking a liking to both side's servants. Siegfried's master continues to feel like the biggest douche. Unfortunate that we didn't get to see Karna fight Jeanne, and Siegfried's fight with Karna felt a little lackluster. But interesting that each side seems to think they have the upper hand (Siegfried saying he can beat Mordred in ep. 2; Shirou saying Karna can beat Jeanne). To what extent their confidence bears true we'll see (they're probably both wrong). Frankenstein too cute. Best character is between Mordred and Astolfo so far. |
| Issues i have after watching this episode 1-Siegfried revealing his true name dont know why Higashide decided to change the script 2-Karna vs Sieg fight was too short i was expecting it to be like 3+min :( 3-Sound effects was awful , seriously A1 what are you doing i thought i had pblms with my headphone Good thing about this episode was Karna entrance ,Fran and Moe cuteness ->3/5 |
| Man, that Karna vs Siegfried battle looked cool, but it was too short to enjoy. I guess the battle of the next episode against Red Berserker will be longer (very hyped for that). The master of Siegfried is a complete moron, but his fails are so stupid he kinda ends up being hilarious. Also, Black Berserker? More like Waifu Berserker :P But dat Jeanne though. The main character also appeared. Let's see if he will be as bad as some people label him. |

| What a nice guy Astolfo is. He just went and helped the Homunculus. But they showed more of that creepy fanservice. Black Berserker is such a cutie. The fight between Karna vs Siegfried was short but awesome and Siegfried's master is a useless guy. Loved Mordred's reactions in this episode. But poor Jeanne, her luggage was destroyed. |

| Nice episode in general, glad to see (again) that Astoflo didn't forget that he was a Hero when he was still alive. The Servant with so much swag that even i can't match it finally appear even for the little of time. If someone was curious who was the "man" Karna was talking about when he was fighting Siegfried it is this Dude. The "Dere" Berserker of Black and Mordred are just too cute lol. Next episode will finally be when (and now i upset many fatefags but he is just too fabulous that's why i love him - no homo) the STRONGEST servant in this show. kick the shit out of the whole squad (ok ok not the whole squad). |

| Interesting fight in terms of animation, certainly different. Reminded me a bit of the later Naruto fights (animation and art). Doubt everyone will like it but i'm on the ''like''- faction. What i especially liked was the scene with Fran and her master, that was really nice. |

| That was a really nice battle between Red Lancer and Black Saber....I liked both of their characters too :) Mordred continues to be bae <3 And Frankenstein is really starting to grow on me As for Astolfo, he continues to impress me based off of his conviction and compassion when it came to the homonculous dude (I completely forgot that people make them in this series lol) Jeanne's neutrality seems like something that could get annoying after a while but I'll refrain from judging until something that warrants me to judge happen but other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing more of her and I'm hoping that she isn't going to LITERALLY be watching 24/7 Great episode overall |
