kinda old news, but for some reason, MAL didn't add to the database.
link to the prequel:
https://comic.webnewtype.com/contents/poppin_q/
(yes, it's legit, it's provided by Kadokawa themselves)
so far only 3 chapters were released, with possibly more to come.
only read the first chapter, it does seem to give a more background on those time fragments.
of course, it's in Japanese, but it's not difficult to read, given the story was aimed mostly at kids (like precure)
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

right from the site itself:

選ばれし少女たちの異世界での冒険、その前日譚が今、明かされる!

the prequel to the heroines journey in the parallel world is now revealed!

it is a prequel. i read it and also read the Pop in Q story through the manga.
Pop in Q reverse covers what happened before time was broken into fragments, how one of the poppin characters lost her voice. it finally ends with Isumi finding one of the time fragments, while running away from the graduation ceremony.

edit: there is a side story though, it's called Pop in Q: Poppin' Drop
which is a collection of stories about the girls and their popping partners.

that was summary and beginning of the story. It doesn't mean the comic is prequel.

and what you write is story from chapter 1. I read chapter 4 and they already in that isekai, so it is not prequel. The manga telling from different perspective.

ah i see. i checked again and the webcomic shows the first 48 pages or so, while the whole manga is 164 pages. i guess they only showed the prequel in chapter 1 (by prequel, i mean how the time was broken into fragments, etc). the announcement about showing the prequel threw me off i guess. my bad >_>
